    That would be a shame for the Marines is America's ever ready expeditionary force. Special forces can operate on foreign soil but only limited. However, if the US needs to call in a heavy conventional or assymetric force they can always rely on their Marines (croos between nimble but very light Special Ops and the conventional Army). The US Army will have to fill in a bog shoe if it want to take over the role of the Marines in land operations.
