With the passage of resolution by the Arabs and te continuing atrocities against civilians in Syria it is possible for NATO to use Turkey to push a war.

In about 6-12 hours time, Turkish forces can move into Syria to provide a 'humanitarian corridor'. This will be interpreted as an unmitigated act of war. Iran will be called upon by Syria to join them to strike Turkey. They will do so. At that time, NATO will unleash contingency 313. Under Contingency 313, a full scale invasion of Syria and Iran are to be carried out, with troops in Afghanistan pressing themselves on the border of Pakistan in case they decide to join in.

The reason troops will stay predominantly on the border with Pakistan is because the Pakistani army is significantly larger than the Iranian army, and is the bigger threat. About 40% of the troops in Afghanistan have been moved to the west on the border with Iran. They will hold the line until reinforcements arrive and while air operations are carried out.

This is a serious possibility. Things can hit up pretty soon. Iran getting involved will mean the NATO will target its nuke centers.

Syria is currently led by Assad who happens to be a Shia. A lot of what is happening is obvious and predictable.
But once it starts, the fallout ?? :scared1: History has proven that it is more tricky to control a war than fighting it.

    There will be no war.

It will draw in Iran and that could be dangerous for the Middle East.

    Assad is an Alawi.

Sunni scholars such as Ibn Kathir has historically categorized Alawis as pagans in their religious works and documents.

What is the Chinese reaction to all this.

Given the Chinese anger at the US encouraging littoral nations to contain China, which has worried and upset China, she has warned the US, after the NATO strike on Pakistan posts, that any attack on Pakistan would be considered as a war against China.

Here is another area, which China can nudge into to indicate their anger against the US. But then, China, may merely issue some terse pious homilies and leave it at that, since the Sunni Arab control the world oil for which China has hunger and is starved off!

That being said, it will upset Iran!

Therefore, it will be interesting as the English idiom goes - to see how the cat leaps!
