Plan to hang 3 for Gandhi killing angers Tamils - Yahoo!

"These three people, everybody knows they are innocent," said Veerappan, 37, who goes by one name. He brought his Tamil Liberty Group for the Blind to join a rolling hunger strike in Chennai to save the men on death row. "If they can hang them then they can take anybody off to prison. Tamils around the globe must get informed and join this fight."

It is true that those 3 people are terrorists who waged war against our mother land..the verdict to hang them was also a right one.But my question is that is it right to hang 3 people after these long 20 years of jail sentence?we shoud modify our laws inorder to make the hangings of the convicts with out any delay..

If the delay was due to appeals, the answer to your question is yes, in my opinion. I would also suggest they hang their lawyers along with them.

Indian law is equal to everyone, tamils are also indians. guilty should be punished if proven wrong.
though i'm against hanging, guilty should not be given the tamil emotional mask to be worn. tamils are as equal as other linguistic communication of our country.
this will be a excuse for other militants to exploit our constitutional laws to their favour.

compromising to the murdering our youngest prime minister of india is not excusable. then that will be a major set back to Indian constitution.

For tamil people Its an emotional and linguistic attachment with tamil rebels in sri lanka, LTTE a organisation with terrorist objectives, thus resulted in killing Rajiv gandhi.

indian lawyers have evolved and have learnt to utilize the loop hopes in the Law. i wish that the matter or the case should be resolved and finished before the issue cools down and looses strength and gives a chance to unwanted obstacle to raise on..

They killed or did they not?

If they have killed, which they did, should they not swing?

What would be the opinion of those who don't want them to swing, if their parents were killed the same way?

Should Afzal Grur and Kasab also be set free?

They are otherwise rather good chaps! Ask a Pakistan and they will say so!

Even Indian Muslims would say so those who are from SIMI and their supporters and there is no dearth of them.

I am not too sure what Digvijay Singh would say!

That last sentence was a poor joke which I should retract.

    Here, I'll substitute another:

    Q. What do you call a lawyer with an IQ of 70?

    A. "Your Honor"

It wouldn't have taken twenty years if they would not appeal to higher courts. They should have accepted the verdict of the lower courts. Why blame the judiciary for this. There were given a fair trial and there appeal was heard in detail over several years of trial. These same group would have cried foul if the case would have concluded in a matter of few years. Seems the timeline of the case is not a problem, the problem is that they do not want them to be hanged...

Before anyone pounces on me, I believe in the wisdom of the SC judges and respect their judgement though I may not agree with it personally.

That being said...the bolded part is pure,ISI mark BS.

    Rajiv != India. Period.

Indian Prime minister ≠ India ?

According to your shit logic then attack on parliament is also not war against motherland since advani ≠ India, mayawati ≠ India, Amma ≠ India etc. Even all terrorist attacks aren't war against India because Mr. X who died in mumbai attacks does not equal India either.

    Speak sense.

Many innocent people died in the attack, Rajiv Gandhi was just one of the many casualties. Many of the dead were Tamils themselves.
Law of land is supreme, these people must be punished for murder of not just one but several Indians.

I don't get it, if you are going against the grain, go full out.
    Why don't you agree ?
Why do you support sparing the lives of terrorists ?
    Give concrete reasons.

An attack on the Prime Minister of India is an attack on our democracy, people, constitution, republic, government, authority of this nation.
