No wonder the expression "when pigs fly."

Eg: "when pigs fly, they crash."

There is no confusion. A pig died, doesn'tmatter his name. Pig is a pig.

Is it a Sqn. leader or a Wing Commander ? Was it a trainer ? why are two names popping up, did PAF loose two pilots ?

Because Trainers have 2 Pilots. So maybe 2 Pakis killed.

Nahi bhai! Karachi is out of range of KALI !

Mirages of the PAF have now reached this stage.....[IMG] :pound:

More will fall out of the sky soon. High time they're grounded and sold as scrap! Soon the older block F-16s too will follow the Mirages, making big craters in the ground!

Come on folks... Bit respect for the dead. We don't have to indulge in mud slinging like them.

Apparently, the Chute failed to open after ejection. May be due to poor maintenance and servicing. Our older aircrafts also prone to same kind of failure.

Must have been hard to hide this crash - which is the default Paki reaction to such events.

Anyway. this is good. The more the Pakis fly these under threat from us, the more jets crash.

Paki armed forces are no different to me from terrorists, thus, I feel as much sympathy here as I would if a terrorist blew himself up practicing his attacks.

Losing a Mirage is even bigger loss since France is not going to replace it for them now at the retail price of just one fighter. Had it been a minor issue like regular maintenance of spare parts, France might have kept up the supply of kits, but when the whole plane goes down, that's one less Mirage for Pakistan. Or maybe it was shot down in some sort of PNS Mehran like incident. Either ways, Pakistan will have to either buy a new plane, or work some other arrangement with France, which is unlikely given Indian pressure on France.

Note that the Mi17 helicopter which India had sent to Afghanistan was also shot down last week, so this incident of Mirage 'crash' might or might not be related. All I know is, there are certain covert capabilities which India does have within Pakistan, and one of them includes the technical capability to take down flying things. Remember when India objected to the European delegation taking a helicopter ride to inspect European investments in POK, and EU refused to amend their behavior? 'someone' shot down the helicopter carrying the EU delegation, which also included their wives. It was later reported as a 'crash' So, some lessons to be learnt here.

Assuming a plane cost of 23 million, 0.01% of Pakistan GDP crashed along with it :hippo: Great 99.99% to go, let's keep them flying sorties everyday.

Our records are no more flattering. Of the 872, Might 21 inducted since 1970-71, 380 have crashed. Main reasons :-
    Technical Fault 39.5%
    Pilot Error 39%
    Bird Hit 9%
    Ground Staff error 1.5%
    Defective production. 0.6%

We lost 22 squadrons of fighter jets to crashes !!!
