I think it was more from this statement - many got enamored:

The alcohol that the Musharraf drinks when he visits Mecca would say that is subject to conditions and foreign office of Pakistan will also say please dont read what is written (first and foremost only) and only read what is written last and from their imagination that only they themselves think and no one else anywhere in the world thinks. Others will probably say by subsequent performance the above was only meant for United States that terrorism from Pakistan will not be used on them ... subject to active role and support of Pakistan by USA and the rest of the world can grow some balls.
