    Rather worrisome a phenomenon.

I was observing the TV Debate last night and repeatedly the callers were complaining that the Govt is not doing its job and ensuring that this happens.

That amused me since there are so many apparel shops in the city and the country that it would require another thousands to go carry out surveillance of ALL the shops ALL the time. Most stupid a thought just to appear very concerned and appalled.

What about the citizens? Should they not also be vigilant and report such stores which have CCTV camera surreptitiously watching changing rooms and lavatories? Have they not the same responsibility as any other monitoring agency and the Govt?

Ms Irani did just that what a responsible citizen should do.

i think the case has been exaggerated. becoz moti mantri samriti irani want to come in lime light. she did this drama.

according to news the camera was out side the changing room but focusing on door of changing room to catch shoplifters who take clothes inside for try and wear them and leave the shop

Use your brain. The min of HRD doesn't need such cheap way of publicity, thre are many other ways for a full ministr to come in lime light.

But, hey be in your dreamland thinking up all the negatives. You seem to have watched too many pak news channels.

Actually a lot of the new shopping malls have such cameras installed in fitting rooms. I think that the police dept. should ensure such things do not happen. Hotels and guest houses are also notorious for such type of peeping tom cameras. It is really shameful to think how someone`s mind can be so sick and degraded.

    Sir,

I agree that since it was Smriti Irani, the incident got a lot of attention. If this had been a common woman the manager would have been let off quite easily. Also shoplifting is the main reason why so many cameras are installed in the shopping malls.

However what is the purpose behind installation of cameras near the fitting rooms. If someone wants to prevent theft, then they should install cameras near the exit. They could also hire female guards to monitor female shoppers.

The devious intentions cannot be ignored in this case.

No one is complaining about shoplifting being stopped by CCTV cameras.

But they are not supposed to be where people undress to do what they are to do, like in the lavatories and changing rooms. That is to ensure that women or even men are not 'peeped' for voyeurism.

I agree that Smriti Irani got the immediate attention since she is a Minister, but anyone else, as a responsible citizen who finds such a thing happening should report it to the Police. And if they do not register the FIR, then one can always contact the media and they will lap it up. Ask Star Ananda or Arnab Goswami.

CCTV cameras do a good job to eliminate shop lifting. There are store detectives both men and women.

I was a regular customer at C3 in Gariahat Mall and the Manager became a friend. He showed me how the security was arranged and asked for my opinion being a retired military man.

The shops have magnetic stuff attached to each merchandise and they have to be taken off by the shop floor assistants or else when one exits, there is a beep that is activated when one travels through the two 'pillars' placed on either side a little away from the exit. It is kept a little away from the exit to ensure that the person who is shop lifting does not have a free run to escape, but is nabbed by the security at the exit door.

I remember a case where a 'respectable' woman was nabbed and handed over to the Police inspite of much wailing by this 'respectable' lady.

Initially a lot of us laughed off that Tweet assuming it was dripping with sarcasm/satire. Imagine our horror when we realized that he indeed meant what he said.

He quickly realized that he had committed a mistake by Tweeting what he usually said behind closed doors. He deleted the tweet, and when asked about it, he said that he was "scared for his life", and hence deleted the tweet.

This is how victimhood and persecution narrative is built up.

One thing is very clear - the so-called self-proclaimed "liberals" have been completely shown up with their sickening double-standards here. They are not dedicated to any cause (like prevention of objectification of women, which they keep whining about). They are dedicated to their agenda, always have been. In any normal case they would have lambasted the shop and asked for the store manager to be lynched without trial. Here, they are making fun of Smriti's looks, her weight, her assets, and everything else. One bastard even called it a "conspiracy against Christian-owned Fabindia".

Anyone who has watched porn (which means all men basically) knows that there are a variety of voyeuristic videos out there. There are videos of girls pissing in hostel, girls playing holi in a private party in a hostel, girls changing in trial room, there are even "keyhole cameras" in hotel rooms which capture couples having sex without their knowledge, videos of women's cleavage in buses and trains, etc. etc. What happened here is, some tharki store employees turned the camera into the changing room and thought they'd have some fun later. They didn't imagine that such a senior person would enter their store that day. They were out of luck.

Of course, this is my guess and I may be wrong, it may be an innocuous mistake. But the #AdarshLiberal scoundrels have been exposed yet again. Their outrage is selective, depending on community, caste, political affiliation, etc.
