In my view, Indian girls are way hotter than Pakistani girls. But Indian girls are extremely rude and arrogant. I never had such negative experiences with pakistani girls whilst living abroad. Most of them were extremely kind despite knowing I am an Indian, a Hindu at that.

As Sunday's Pakistan-India world cup match was drawing to a close, something other than Misbah-ul-Haq's valiant effort to save face was causing a stir on Twitter.

It all began when Rega Jha, Buzzfeed India's 23-year-old editor, tweeted: "It's so sad that no matter who wins, Pakistanis will continue to be way hotter than us and we'll continue to be their ugly neighbours.":


Jha's tweet immediately went viral and indignant Indian cricket fans trolled her incessantly. The majority of replies to her tweet were outraged denials of the above statement. Fellow tweet-ers were merciless in their attack on Jha, and responses ranged from the unbelievably mean-spirited to the plain hilarious:

Jha's comment, though probably made in jest, struck a nerve with Pakistanis and Indians as the relative hotness of either nation has long been a matter of heated debate. For every Deepika India spits out, Pakistan responds with a Mahira. The two countries are certainly neck and neck in the race for the hottest 'race' — if there can be such a contest when two populations are ethnically so much the same.

Though Jha's tweet quickly incited us-vs-them passion, some were quick to point out that this was a clever ploy on her part to get attention and direct traffic Buzzfeed's way. As Newscrunch.in points out, "The internationally acclaimed media site Buzzfeed, which has been struggling to find traction in India, found some social media success on Sunday after its editor Rega Jha tweeted saying Pakistanis were hot and Indians ugly."

Indeed, a few hours after her tweet, 'Rega Jha' was trending on Twitter in India. As commentary continued, a few twitterati called for a truce as the attacks on Jha were becoming increasingly personal and openly misogynistic:

except these days there is serious competition coming form Nepal
only problem is that they tend to lack the height which pak punjabi women have

also agree with another poster that pak punjabi women generally are more
polite ....i find that punjabi pakistanis are generally more glad and fulfilled
with their own culture and more loyal to customs , language
and overall culture and this could be because most of them
come from the same ( Punjabi ) background

incidently i hve always been wondering what's so great about that "deepika padukoone"
whom most of india is crazy over and actually prefer the girl shown three posts above to her
.....so you could say its a case of different taste ?

Punjabi girls are easy going, fun to hang out with and they're so polite. I love Lahori and Chinioti girls, they're pretty and less arrogant compared to Karachi and Islamabad.

about the 1962, yes china was the aggressor, it was all Mao and his iron hand policy to annex tibet, which created all the problems, but i agree on the fact that Nehru was a fool and he did it twice one when we went to war with pakis and one with chinese (but unlike what you pakis do we donot fret on the war with Chinese much)

and about beating the kashmiries, there have been many instances where holding your tongue is far more important than babbling....you see we hindus are very patriotic people, we always keep our nation before our religion unlike some other communities. so the kashmiris should have shown some namak halali instead of harami.

i personally love Maharashtrian and Bengali girls hey are beautiful, bold and intelligent. i admire those women who are smart, and know their stuff.

the one thing which i have personally seen about some punjabi and many muslim girls is that they somehow transform completely and look much more older when they reach say 25 plus.
