Pakistan welcomes India's positive role in Afghanistan: Aizaz

Islamabad- Secretary Foreign Affairs Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry has said Pakistan wants peace, progress and balance of power in the region. He said Pakistan will welcome India's positive role in Afghanistan, for peace and stability in the region.

Talking to a news channel, he said Pakistan is eager to build better relations with regional and neighboring countries including India. Pakistan even went two steps forward to resolve all issues with India, but regrettably New Delhi never reciprocated Pakistan's good gesture.

Foreign Secretary said the United States should exert pressure on India, to resolve all issues with Pakistan.

Balance of power !! They want to be counted as equals to us. Nothing new. If they really did want peaceful relations, they wouldn't ask someone else to put pressure on us.

Relations with India only on equality basis: Pakistani PM
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Pakistan is interested in good relations with India but only on the basis of equality and mutual respect. :D

He shared these views in a meeting with Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit who called on the prime minister at the PM House on Wednesday and briefed him on the status of Pakistan-India relations in the wake of US President Barrack Obama's visit to India.
The Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan wants good neighbourly relations with all countries of the region. He said India is an important neighbour for us and we would like to have normal relations with the country on the basis of mutual respect and sovereign equality.

The prime minister said it is important that two countries resolve all their outstanding issues including Jammu and Kashmir in order to have viable peace in the region. Pakistan's high commissioner to India Abdul Basit was called to Islamabad on Wednesday for urgent consultation with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif regarding the evolving situation in the region after US President Obama's visit to Delhi. Sources told Daily Times that High Commissioner Abdul Basit has briefed top the leadership on recent developments in the region, including the US-India nuclear deal and its implications on strategic stability in South Asia.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Obama announced last week that they had reached an agreement to break the deadlock that has been stalling a civilian nuclearpower agreement. The invitation to the annual celebration is one of the biggest honours the country can bestow on a foreign leader and underscores the increasing warmth between Obama and India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM while talking to the high commissioner said: "India is an important neighbour for Pakistan and we would like to have good relations on the basis of respect and sovereign equality. The premier further said that it is important for both Indian and Pakistan to resolve all their outstanding issues, including Jammu and Kashmir, in order to have durable peace and security in the region.

When Pakis say "Pakistan wants peace, progress and balance of power in the region" it means -> "Pakistan wants war, regression and disbalance of power in the region".

I am sure there are a large number of Pakistanis who would like good relations with india
But the army is reluctant ; for the simple reason they would lose their grip on the nation.

It appears that the new government attitude of disregarding Pakistan being an input to be kept in mind while formulating India's policies is making Pakistan desperately pariah like & hence trying pathetically to be in the events.

Now India should to react positively.
Sure... we would provide more weapons so Afgans can protect themselves from oppression of Pakis and get back their land beyond Durand Line.

That would be additional to the development help we provide to AFG.

if india succeed with afganistan the region will transform since pakis will be given a lesson that they aggravated and disturbed and frustrated the development of the region and countries. that would hit home hard in pakistan itself.
