BEIJING: Next time India chooses to wield the willow at Pakistan, it may be called upon to play on Chinese soil. At least, this is what the Pakistan Cricket Board wants to happen, the official Xinhua news agency reported on Friday within days of China hosting a cricket match at the Guangzhou Asian Games.

Javed Miandad, former Pakistan captain, has presented a written report to the PCB suggesting China be made a "neutral venue" for international cricket matches. The idea is to counter moves by some cricketing countries including India, who refuse to play in Pakistan on the ground that it posed a security risk.

"We should take immediate and solid steps to decide this issue soon before the time passes away," Miandad, PCB director and Pakistan's cricket ambassador to China, was quoted as saying in the letter.

Islamabad is also expected to support China's bid for hosting the 2012 Asian Cup in Guangzhou when the issue comes up for discussion at a meeting in Dhaka on December 12.

Syed Ashraful Haq, chief executive of the Asian Cricket Council recently told a cricket website that the Chinese Cricket Association had "expressed its interest" in hosting the 2012 Asia Cup. "If our ACC board agrees, China will have its first full-fledged, major international tournament," Haq said.

Pakistan which was earlier made co-host of World Cup 2011, lost hosting rights after the 2009 attack on the Sri Lanka cricket team and refusal from teams in other nations to visit the country.

In his letter, Miandad praised China saying cricket has a bright future in the country. He suggested that Pakistan should help China to establish cricket infrastructure and new stadia. He also suggested sending a group of former players as a coaching team to China to train the Chinese youth.

    China national cricket team

The Chinese cricket team is the team that represents the People's Republic of China in international cricket. The Chinese Cricket Association became an International Cricket Council affiliate member in 2004. [1] The Special administrative region of Hong Kong is a member of the ICC in their own right, becoming an ICC associate member in 1969. Hence, players from Hong Kong are not eligible to represent China in international competition.

    History

In 1866–1948, the Shanghai Cricket Club, the largest club in the country, played games against many touring sides, but it was not recognised as an official national team.
Since September 2005, the Chinese Cricket Association has conducted eight coaching/umpiring training courses with assistance from the Asian Cricket Council. The sport is now played in nine cities in China, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Dalian, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Tianjin and Jinan. More than 150 schools have been involved.
China took part in the 2009 ACC Trophy Challenge, their first appearance in a representative tournament. The Chinese lost all of their group matches, including against the Maldives where they lost by 315 runs. In the seventh place playoff China recorded their first ever international win when they beat Myanmar by 118 runs.
China took part in the 2009 ACC Twenty20 Cup in the United Arab Emirates. The team lost their first game against Afghanistan by 9 wickets after being bowled out for just 37. China lost all five of their groups games by wide margins, including a record low total and record margin of defeat in a representative Twenty20 match when they lost to the United Arab Emirates by 209 runs after conceding 236 runs during the UAE's innings and then in reply were bowled out for 27 runs, with 15 of those runs coming in extras. They lost to Bahrain in the eleventh place playoff, thus finishing the tournament in twelfth and last place.
China will participate in the 2010 Asian Games where, as host, it will play against Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Oman, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates.

Ugh, Pakistanis first obsessed to us saying Arab countries love them, their "muslim brotherhood" my A$$. Look what happened now.
Now they obsess over China selling them defence equipment and try to bond with China. Look what'll happen later =)

China wants to use Pakistan against India. That's the sole reason why they're giving aid and military equipment.

@Cricket, ROFL. China!!!!! I doubt any other country wants to play in CHINA. UAE is the best neutral venue since it's the ICC's HQ.

Lol little disagreement... first were Americans but they got pissed off with them because they did not attacked India in 1971 because USSR had their nuke subs in Indian Ocean. Lol and they blame Americans for that. They expect US would have started war with Soviets for their sake. lol.

Those are doomed to fall who rise on others shoulders.

First you fellows thought that America was your best friend. Then you thought that the Arab world was your best friend. Now it's China.

Face it, everyone simply uses you and spits on you after they're done with you. That is because you beg from people, thereby losing all self respect. If you had taken loans from other countries for infra development and developed your nation, and repaid the loans with interest after getting the return on investment, nations would have respected you. But you go around with a begging bowl and think that whoever throws alms into your bowl is your best friend. This is the attitude problem that your country has, and you haven't learnt any lessons even after being used like tissue paper time and again. :eek:hno:

Pakistan never had the balls to openly fight with any adversary. Pakistan supported the Taliban against the Soviets. Pakistan fights India with its bunch of religious lunatics. This is not courage and nothing to be proud of in an open forum, this is Pakistan's jar full of shame!
