RAWALPINDI: Pakistan on Tuesday conducted a successful Flight Test of the indigenously developed Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) “Ra’ad”.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) wing of the Pakistan Army handout, the Ra’ad ALCM, with a range of 350 kilometers enables Pakistan to achieve air delivered strategic standoff capability on land and at sea.

The state of the art Ra’ad ALCM is equipped with highly advanced guidance and navigation system that ensures engagement of targets with pin point accuracy.

The terrain hugging low level flight maneuvers enable it to avoid detection and engagement by contemporary air defence systems President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan have congratulated the Scientists and Engineers for their outstanding achievement on the conduct of a successful flight test of “Ra’ad”.

Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General MazharJamil, congratulated the Scientists and Engineers on achieving yet another milestone of historic significance. He termed it a major step towards complementing Pakistan’s deterrence capability. Achievement of this milestone will surely enhance strategic stability and contribute to peace in the region.

He appreciated the technical prowess, dedication and commitment of the Scientists and Engineers who contributed significantly to make the launch of the indigenously, developed Ra’ad Missile a success.

He expressed full confidence over the training standards and operational preparedness of strategic forces.

I thought they said it can go to 500km? Is that for a future version?

What kind of seeker is involved? If it is touted as being able to attack moving ships, it makes sense to have a SAR seeker onboard like Nirbhay or Block-IV Tomahawk.

Is it answer to India's Nirbhaya albeit with a smaller range?

    It's called Nirbhay, not Nirbhaya.

No, Ra'ad appeared a long time before Nirbhay came along.

More than half of Pakis won't know how to pronounce arabic Ra'ad. They should name their weapons in Punjabi, it would be very amusing.

They were never meant to participate in Bahrain Air Show. We would participate in other Air Shows.

I got it wrong. Nirbhay is not air-launched. In fact India may not have any ALCM.

Same is true for you. Last time I checked you have more hungry people as a percentage of total population than us.

Our conditions are improving day by day. Your's are worsening. That should be a cause of alarm, instead you don't seem bothered about it at all - who cares about poor people in Pakistan? Is there anyone?

    And poverty is just tip of the iceberg;

Plus your people seem to think Polio vaccination is a Hindu conspiracy to sterilize Pakistanis or something. And there is no literacy or education, economy is down the drain, healthcare is a joke, and here you are begging for nukes & missiles from China, Ukraine & South Africa.

Sir, uranium does not satisfy people's hunger. Your nation reminds me of North Korea. A poor-a$$ dictatorship run by maniacs who preach one phrase : "nuclear bomb".

    Karna padta hai. :biggrin2:

The Pakis are way too intent on commenting on the neighbour's fire-safety measures while their own house is on fire!
