Short introduction.

Pakistan has six independent special forces which are responsible for their respective area of operations.


Special Services Group (SSG)

Elite group for Land ops and the parent force of the other special forces in Pakistan.
Participated in many significant conflicts and proved to be highly capable and effective.

Afghanistan , Saudi Arabia , Libya , Bosnia , Kosovo are known international theater of operations in the history of SSG.

Special services Wing (SSW)

Independent special ops unit for Pakistan air force , trained by Unites states marines and other United states special forces as well as SSG. Equipped with FN-2000 SMG and other modern arms.

Special services group Navy (SSGN)

Responsible for covert naval ops and is a dedicated wing of Pakistan navy.

Pakistan Marines (Pak Marines)

Independent wing of Pakistan Navy - responsible for high profile ops , protecting hardware , covert ops and anti piracy , maritime security.

Elite Police (EP)

Special ops group for Punjab police , responsible for hostage rescue , swift response to terror threats , District based HQ with special SWAT teams equipped with wide range of modern arms ie M4A1 - Type-56 , Styer Snipers , MP5P1.

The Pakistan Rangers part of the Paramilitary forces of Pakistan, and consists of members of the Pakistan Army under the direct control of the Ministry of the Interior of the Pakistan Government. The Rangers are an internal security force with the prime objective to provide and maintain security in war zones and areas of conflict as well as maintaining law and order which includes providing assistance to the police

"SSG"

The action centres on a helicopter commando operation in the mountain valley of Peochar in May 2009 when the army took on the Taliban, which had taken over the Swat region.

Peochar was headquarters to Maulana Fazlullah, the Taliban leader who was known as Radio Mullah for his fiery broadcasts. His men had blocked all the roads in and built a network of tunnels inside the mountains big enough to take trucks.

To catch them by surprise, a brigade of commandos was dropped by helicopter on to 2750m peaks. They managed to clear the area in an operation that has won international admiration, including praise from General David Richards, Britain's chief of the defence staff.
