Amid allegations and counter allegations of ceasefire violations by Indian and Pakistani forces, sources in Pakistan told Headlines Today on Monday that additional forces have been deployed on their side of the Line of Control (LoC).
According to sources, the additional forces were being deployed close to Sialkot and Kasur. Sources also suggested that ammunition reserves were also being augmented in Lahore in the wake of incidents of firing in the past couple of days.

However, sources in the Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) told Headlines Today that there was no specific information on fresh deployment along the LoC.MoD sources said that reports on deployments in Punjab sector were not specific, yet. However, the department was coordinating with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on the developing situation.

Pakistan summons Indian envoy:

Meanwhile, the Pakistan foreign office on Monday summoned India's Deputy High Commissioner to raise the issue of "continuous ceasefire violations" by the Border Security Force (BSF) across the LoC over the past couple of days.

The Pak foreign office issued a media release, stating: "The Foreign Office summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner this afternoon to raise this concern which has resulted in the loss of an innocent civilian life in Rawalakot."

"Pakistan calls upon India to uphold the ceasefire on the LoC and reiterates its commitment to the Ceasefire Agreement of 2003, which should be respected in letter and spirit. Pakistan also urges the need for abiding by and strengthening existing military mechanisms to ensure that such violations do not recur," the statement reads.

Referring to its commitment to a "constructive, sustained and result-oriented process of engagement with India", Pakistan said it believes "serious efforts need to be made in maintaining a positive atmosphere and avoid negative propaganda".

Meanwhile, The Express Tribune quoted an unnamed Foreign Ministry official as saying that Pakistan is thinking of scaling down its diplomatic staff in New Delhi and shifting troops from its border with Afghanistan to the eastern frontier after a spike in tensions with India.

Bilateral ties were hit after the August 6 ambush on the LoC in which five Indian soldiers were killed. India has blamed the Pakistan Army for the incident.

"Yes, we are thinking on these lines"¦a major chunk of the diplomatic staff in India could be withdrawn as the Indian government, despite repeated requisitions, did not arrange foolproof security for our diplomatic mission there," the Foreign Ministry official said.

"Our High Commission in Delhi has reported suspicious movement of mobsters in the surrounding of offices and residences of our diplomatic staff in India."

An unnamed military official said the army could ask the government to withdraw troops from the border with Afghanistan and redeploy them to the eastern frontier.

The Foreign Ministry official said a final decision would be made by the Cabinet Committee on Defence, the highest forum on security issues.

A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Defence, the first since Nawaz Sharif became premier, is likely to be held within a week.

First the Terrorists (i.e. Pakistani soldiers) crossed the LoC and killed 5 Indian soldiers violating the ceasefire, then they denied from doing so. Now more terrorists are deployed to kill more Indian soldiers.

India needs to increase their presence in the Western border of Pakistan and make a Sandwich of Pakis and make sure their troops are involved there.

Pakis are looking to be tight slapped by waging a war against India.

Seems like Pak Army is feeling neglected since their jahil awaam somehow let Civilian govt stay for few years.Another takhta palat on it's way and whats the best excuse ie. boogyman India.

Pakis are freaks, started every war (even in 1971 they were in the wrong and deserved getting their sorry a$$ whooped) but have never won one, failed attempt after failed attempt, why have they not learnt their lesson by now?

Look at the pathetic condition of their country, still not learnt to stand on their own 2 feet, a failed country and failed people, always relying on their sugar daddies or someone else to bail them out, but still the paki freaks are trouble makers! Tunnel vision >>> India, Kashmir, Hindus, India, Kashmir, Hindus. Fingers crossed this waste of time mobilisation is a costly affair, hitting them where it hurts most!

i think in a sense goi is wise not to escalate the temperature at the borders - both western and indeed in aksai

world events especially as orchestrated by the remaining superpower ( not to mention some others as well ) are , shall we say , in our favour ?

if things go as planned , then why have a war when we can get a good solution without one ?

Well, In a sense this will help UPA if pakistan attacks india and India won. UPA desperately needs some positive points to show. And winning a war against pakistan will trump any misdeeds in india. So, in a way it might be a fixed war/skirmish if it happens.

If we increase the pressure on the Pak front, it will help us that much more in Afganistan, as PA will have to leave those borders thinly manned.

If UPA idiots had any sense they would have ordered a skirmish last week and gained quite a few votes.

I was watching the program on TimesNow hosted by that Arnab Goswami guy (don't remember the name of the program, though). There was a Paki member on the panel named Peerzada who basically threatened to go to war (lol) if Kashmir is not settled through talks

Makes you wonder why the government is so afraid of a confrontation with the Pakis and China. Maybe they don't trust the armed forces and think the plan will backfire.

The problem with Pak is that they chose to eat grass to make a bomb and now that bomb is also not going to save them once we call there bluff and state openly that our NFU policy is not applicable to Pak. I really wud like to see what Pakis have to say once we do that. They know that we have always done what we wanted and their nukes were of no use in Kargil and will be of no use in next war also. They need to fear their nukes more than we shud in India.
