Pakistan Army attacks Indian Jawans near LoC

Two Indian soldiers were killed on Tuesday in a gunfight with unidentified gunmen near the Line of Control (LoC) that divides the contested Himalayan region of Kashmir between India and Pakistan, an Indian military official said.

The official said troops were on a regular patrol near Mendhar, 220 km (140 miles) north of the Indian city of Jammu when they saw some "suspicious movement half a kilometre inside our territory".

"Our troops challenged them to surrender but they were fired upon," said Rajesh K. Kalia, spokesman for the Indian army's Northern Command.

Cowards Pakis, don't have balls for a fair fight. What's with decapitation?. Only shows that the paki army are terrorists in uniform and have a taliban mentality. India should never have let those 93 K POWs in 1971 let go. This is what happens when you become soft.

It is not confirmed if the pakis involved in fresh attack were uniformed or non-uniformed.

Shiv Aroor says that if attackers were uniformed then this is another Kargil.

Paki reporters say that some Paki soldiers acted on their own without orders from PA!

No one from GOP or GOI speaking anything. Waiting to see what stand Indian Army takes.

Why blame them...lets be fair..they crossed the border...indulged in a fair fight and killed our jawans...my grudging respect. Now the ball is in Indian court.

Pakistan kills Indian jawans on Indian territory

New Delhi: Two Indian soldiers were killed and another two injured by Pakistani army troops who crossed into Indian territory along the Line of Control. The body of one of the jawans who was killed was mutilated, said sources. This is one of the worst violations of the nearly decade-long ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
The army says Pakistani troops ambushed an Indian army patrol near the town of Mendhar, about 220 kms north of Jammu.

The Associated Press quoted Brig. S. Chawla, an Indian army spokesman, as saying "They (Pakistan) not only violated the cease-fire, but also the sanctity of the line of control."

"Our troops challenged them to surrender but they were fired upon," said Rajesh K. Kalia, spokesman for the Indian army's Northern Command to Reuters.
Tension has been simmering along the Line of Control since the weekend.

India says that on Sunday, Pakistani troops fired mortar shells at Indian army posts in the Uri sector along the Line of Control to help militants cross over into India. The Indian army retaliated.

Pakistan says India's firing was unprovoked and alleges that one of its soldiers died and another was injured. On Monday, its Foreign Office in Islamabad summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gopal Bagley to register a complaint.

New Delhi has denied that Indian troops crossed the Line of Control or violated the ceasefire.

Army sources say that in the last month, Pakistan has violated the ceasefire agreement ten times.

Horror. Sources: The 2 Indian Army jawans were decapitated. Either 1 or both heads have been taken back across the LoC by Pak Army soldiers.
