Pakistan anger at video games that depict country as terrorist haven


Pakistani shopkeepers are boycotting two new video games which they say portray the country as a failed state, riddled with terrorism and where security forces are in league with al-Qaeda.

Both Medal of Honor: Warfighter and Call of Duty: Black Ops II are first-person shooter games, where players take on the persona of an American special forces agent and feature ultra realistic graphics.

Terrorism and the role of local security forces are hugely sensitive subjects in Pakistan, which has barely recovered from the shock of discovering that Osama bin Laden was hiding in plain sight, barely 30 miles from the capital Islamabad.

Saleem Memon, president of the All Pakistan CD, DVD, Audio Casette Traders and Manufacturers Association, said he had written to members ordering them not to stock the controversial games after receiving dozens of complaints.

"The problem is that there are things that are against Pakistan and they have included criticism of our army," he said.

"They show the country in a very poor light."

That is not the problem. The problem is making up of the image.

Like in cold war, James bond always busted the Soviet evil designs and the world was fed on that propaganda, the West and USA is increasingly depicting Pakistan as a center of terrorism and nuclear nightmare. Many movies have appeared showing USA nucking Pakistan. Pakistan is an evil empire..

When perception take shape into realities India being a neighbour has to take some heat or at least some fallout. That is the bad story. Pakistanis are very pleased to say with terrorist glee " Ham to doobenge sanam tumko bhi le doobenge"...

Next storyline will be American SEAL busting a terrorist hideout in Srinagr or Ahmadabad.... if not Mumbai.

That is not the problem. The problem is making up of the image.

What the Hell its a game...if the US can show killing of civilians in russia in COD then if such things happens in game its up to them.
They banned that part from russian version of game if anything such is shown in future(which i personally believe they will show positive image of india) that part can be removed in indian version of game....

Fun fact: Civilization games(or any other TBS or RTS) don't consider Pakistan to be a country just an extension of the Indian civilization. Bwahahahahahahahahah!!!!

Black ops is one of the most popular video games of all time. A lot of people
i know love the whole franchise. Pakistan has earned this reputation it has not
bothered them in the past why should it now?

A country which gave shelter to the BIGGEST TERRORIST of the world Osama is definitly a terrorist country.

So Pakistan is 101% terrorist state and the games simply reflects it.

You can not do any other thing but laugh at yourselves. You identity crisis has partioned your country and will do it again. As there is no end to seeking identity whereas Allaha says that there is only one identity- Islam. (Hindus says the only identity is Atman and there is no other identity)

Back when 911 happen I was telling Muslims this was going to happen, not only games but comic books,,, movies, since these games , comics and books, movies are sold all over the world the entire world is being indoctrinated that Muslim and especially Pakistan,, are terrorist and barbaric.

EA, Microsoft or any other publisher make exactly 0$ in Pakistan(yes that is zero) beacuse all those "DVD's inside a plastic bag" pirated roadside crap..Most Pakis don't know what a computer or a video game is they are too busy blowing themselves up or rummaging through a pile of garbage for somthing to eat.

Back when 911 happen I was telling Muslims this was going to happen, not only games but comic books,,, movies, since these games , comics and books, movies are sold all over the world the entire world is being indoctrinated that Muslim and especially Pakistan,, are terrorist and barbaric.

There are 3 Chinese weapons in the game...... And the developers armed the Pakistani soldiers and special forces with the MSMC...


The guy was like "ISI troops" killed one and picked up an MSMC. They were all armed with it.
