See? The statement is made by Gilli. As if the Chinis are in need of their security. Who are these Pakis kidding. Its a desperate attempt to save themselves from being bombed to stone age. If the chinis don't support them now, it will be back to the US and "yes sir, understood sir!!! Allah ke naam pe kuch de do sir, or in the name of father son and holy spirit!! Whatever it takes!!!

Umm Chinese are called Chinis in Hindi/Sanskrit

Infact

The word "China" is derived from Cin (چین), a Persian name for China popularized in Europe by the 14th-century explorer Marco Polo.[23][24] The first recorded use in English dates from 1555.[25] The Persian word is, in turn, thought to be derived from the Sanskrit word Cīna (चीन),[26] which was used as a name for China as early as AD 150

China=चीन= Cheen, people from चीन = Chini

Does sugar have anything to do with China or their appearance?:p
I read that चीन/Cheen was mentioned somewhere is the Mahabharata and has something to do with Silk. I'm not sure though.

The Sugar thing is just a coincidence imo

Etymology enables words to deliver past facts and can become an independent source of knowledge. Here the word sugar is traced to the Chinese term Sha-Che, literally "Sand-Sugar plant," signifying a sand-like product from the sugar plant, which is sugar. Sha-Che underwent the following phonetic changes: Sha-Che = Sha-Ke = Shar-Ker = Sharkera, which became the Sanskrit word for sugar, with the variant Sha-Kera. Its popular vernacular form became Shak-Ker. This entered Arabic as Al-Shakker, changing into Al-Sukker, pronounced as "Assuker." Muslims in Spain gave the Spanish their word when Assuker = Azucar (Spanish). Sukker, the real Arabic word, entered Old French as Suker-e, Italian as Zuker-o or Zucckero, and German as Zucker. When "k" is emphasized it can become aspirated as "kh" or doubled as "kk," or mutate into "g." Sukker then changed into Sugar with the "s" further mutating into "sh," giving the final form Shugar, written as Sugar. The Greeks directly borrowed the popular vernacular word Shakker. It was Hellenized as Sakkharon, mentioned by Discoredes in 56 A.D. From the Greek it passed into Latin as Saccharum. In India the large crystalline form of sugar is called Misri. Its Chinese original is Mi-Sha-Li, "sweet-pebble-glassy," a sweet crystalline (glassy) substance the size of pebbles. Another form of sugar is in small crystals, which in a heap appear opaque-white or porcelain-white rather than transparent salt-white. Porcelain-white sugar was called Cheeni, where Cheeni = Porcelain. Thus, Cheeni does not mean Chinese sugar, nor Misri Egyptian sugar. Both these forms of sugar were sweetening agents not intended to be directly consumed. But a sweet, composed of sugar and an article of food, was known in Chinese as Kan-Di, "Sweet-Drop." This became Candy in English, Qand in Arabic, Khanda in Sanskrit and Khand in vernaculars.

This amount is a joke.
Seriously!! 1.25 million is approx. 6 crore. In a city like Bangalore in India, that will allow you to buy a good plot in a posh locality and build a nice huge house.

In daily life, just like beggars don't accept small change, Pakistan as a beggar on the international stage should have been angry at this offer. But well, they've decided to take what comes their way, I guess. :D

That seems quite cheap. The posh colonies in delhi are worth way more than that. Some above 50 crores.

It is lose-lose situation for China. It shows her friends she won't protect them if she doesn't sign and if she does the whole region will start forming their own pacts there and with the West.

If the unholy Chinese-Paki alliance happens then US will bleed China like how it is bleeding in AfPak now. Note that the US has deeply and widely infiltrated Pakistan on all segments of the government and even in the tribal areas.

So I say to Pak and China bring it on.

Trust China wouldn't want that. They are not ready for that. Pakistan dreams good. But again everyone has to wake up at some point.

US will blowout the roof in UNSC meet in that case nor can China assure the impartial nature of defence pact.

Not exactly, China does not have many friends or should I say friends that matter. Pakistan is most likely their best bet to announce to the world that China has arrived. Plus paying a lip service to the gullible paki politicians is not a big deal. Energy security is another point.

No more pacts are to formed in S.E.Asia. West is done with this pact crap.

From Pakistan's perspective, they can give the "higher than mountains deeper than oceans" like statements for domestic consumption. Secondly, they were in these kinds of pacts earlier.

Southeast Asia Treaty Organization - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It proved to be grossly ineffective. Bar US (too little too late) no one came to their help including the mighty China and of course UK and France when their asses were being whopped in 71.

China does not like to be tied down to any rules and regulations or even obligation.

It likes its freelancing profile!

And what can Pakistan give to China?

The second front and that is all?

Right now, China is in competition with the USA and it is single-minded in its pursuit and has no spare cash to throw around.

Once China has overhauled the US (and that is a long time away, if at all!), then maybe China will think of pacts!
