Many Americans favour a war with Iran. However Pakistan is a bigger threat to America than Iran. Why do you still keep funding this liar state? Frankly, haven't you Americans had enough of Pakistan? This is a great puzzle we Indians are unable to solve.

Iran is perhaps on priority than Pak since Iran is going to acquire nuke whereas Pak already has operational nukes.US has indirectly pushed Pak in a undeclared civil war already(40,000 dead since WOT).

US would not like 2 staunch enemies having nukes specially Muslim countries. This would undermine its dominance.

    Valid point.

The US will respect the Pakistani territory and Pakistan must respect that they cannot kill US troops in Afghanistan by sponsoring terrorists.

Now that would be mutual and would also extend respect on a mutual platform.

US wants no terrorists on Afghanistan soil so that Afghanistan can have an independent government without Pak sponsored terrorism and all terrorists are sponsored by Pakistan and that is the universally recognised truth.

Terrorism is the lifeline of Pakistan and US knows this ,what US wants is to use
Pakistan's own terrorism against them -have them cut their own throats.

I dont know any american that wants a war with Iran, there may be some but I know a lot of people and I dont know one of them that wants a war with Iran. I dont know as we want a war with Pakistan either. If India wants some one to fight Pakistan why dont you all do it, your lot closer.

If an edifice is crumbling under its own weight and weak foundation, why waste one's resource to pull it down?

Mutual respect happens between two equals, the pakistanis are in no position to demand respect from US. They get billions in the name of aid and that make them beggars, perhaps they can get mutual respect from china but I doubt that too, the chinese will just use them.

The US withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan will have to mean a major change in US attitude toward Pakistan.

    How?

As I see it, the Pakistan Govt would like to create situation so that the US remains.

They would not like to kill the golden goose.

Further, if Pakistan has no handle to apply, the US will become more India centric and that will be a problem for Pakistan, not only militarily but diplomatically.

As I see it, if the US military would no longer need to depend on Pakistan in terms of logistics and access to Afghanistan, the US might be more inclined to pressure Pakistan on terrorist enclaves. Maybe that is wishful thinking.

As for your last sentence, that would be a good thing for India and the US.

The actual timetable and troop numbers for Afghanistan withdrawal by US are not even known at this time.
