Pak F-16 fighter jets can't target US drones: Rehman Malik

Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that the Pakistan Air Force cannot shoot down unmanned US drones.
Malik said the altitude of the drones is much higher than that of Pakistan's F-16 fighter jets.
"Our effort remains focused on finding a diplomatic solution to halt drone attacks. We feel they are counter-productive. Drone missiles cause collateral damage. A few militants are killed, but the majority of victims are innocent citizens," the Nation quoted Malik, as saying.
Over 900 people were killed in US drone attacks in Pakistan's tribal areas, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) had earlier said in its annual report.
The US does not confirm the drone attacks, but its military and the CIA operating in Afghanistan are the only forces that deploy the unmanned aircraft in the region.
Pakistan officially protests the strikes as violations of its sovereignty, but its security agencies are believed to secretly cooperate with the programme. (ANI)

This is a strange comment, Pakistan hints at using US planes to shoot down US drones. There is a veiled threat in there somewhere to USA.

Bullshit! Mr Malik lacks the balls to say that they have no choice , the RQ-1 Predator MAE UAV has a cruising altitude of roughly 10-15000ft and a max operational altitude of 26,000 ft above MSL. well below commercial civilian airliners while the F-16 has a service ceiling of 60,000+ ft (18,000+ m) with a rate of climb of 50,000 ft/min (254 m/s). Either Mr rehman malik is being sarcastic or he's just plain stupid.

their might be other reasons too, US F 16 have secret device which read the radar signature and compare it with its computer, if it is NATO fighter or UAV it will not show on F16 radar or missile will not lock on to the same.

US not fool to supply F 16 and them let Pakistani airforce to shoot down its planes and UAVs.

yeah nrj for the simple reason now a days data storage medium are very small they can easily keep the data on NATO aircrafts and UAV on small drive and hide it with F16 computer along with GPS tracker. All the data from PAF fighter being send through satellite to server in USA where they are monitoring activities of Pakistani airspace.

those pakistani are fools they paid so much for those F 16 which they cannot use themselves in war for offensive action against us.

Even if that is the case saya, couldn't the Pak F-16s <theoretically> engage the drones/enemy US aircraft in WVR combat that does not involve computers/radar?

Of course, that would be much less efficient.
