A book penned by a late former Pakistan Army General has lifted the lid off the genocide carried out by the nation in erstwhile East Pakistan.

A Stranger in My Own Country: East Pakistan, 1969-91, by late Major General (retd) Khadim Hussain Raza, provides an account of the brutal elimination of more than three million people carried out by the Pakistan Army, led by the infamous General AKK Niazi, from 1969 until the creation of Bangladesh in 1971.

Raza, then General Officer Commanding 14 Division of the army, was posted in East Pakistan during the period. The book has been published posthumously by Oxford University Press, given the sensitive nature of the subject.

Raza claimed in his book that Niazi had threatened to let loose Pakistani soldiers on the women of East Pakistan in an audacious bid to alter the ethnicity of the Bengali race. His comments had even driven an officer of Bengali origin, Major Mustaq, to suicide. Niazi later surrendered to General JFR Jacob of the Indian Army.

The book also claims that the equally notorious General Tikka Khan, the commander of the Eastern command, wanted to publicly try liberation movement leader Sheikh Mujibur Rehman in Dhaka and hang him.

Raza also blasted Major General Rahim Khan - his junior who, too, was posted in East Pakistan - who allegedly believed that " Bengalis were timid people and should have been subdued long ago". Rahim later fled Dhaka when the situation worsened.

Pakistan had launched Operation Searchlight on March 25, 1971, to curb the Bengali nationalist movement by taking control of major cities on March 26, and then eliminating all opposition, political or military, within a month.

Why did he not condemn it during the war or defect to India? Is it his guilt or old age business printing money?

he is law student or something, it is too bad that he was not on the receiving end of the PA Genocide, then we would have seen his sarcasm. BTW PA tried its level best to save cutting short of their country, they are still paranoid to their core.

About time
1. Pakistan apologised for the genocide.
2. OIC to censor Pakistan for killing millions of muslims.
3. UN to take note of India's heroic moral stand and hasten our ascension to UNSC
4. Pakistan to accept stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh.

BTW Pakistani army should be tried in international court of justice for their war crimes.
Three reasons Amreeka, Bartaania, Cheen. Pakhanis, true to their character were (and still are) in aproverbial Ménage à trois (household of four instead of three) with the three of them.

That puts paid to the Pak propaganda mill that nothing happened.

It also shows up Sharmila Bose, who was a great supporter of the Pakistan Army, as a paid agent and a scoundrel!

Is that French?

How about Ménage à Quatre? Is there any historical significance to this phrase? I sure don't know about it.

I think it is French.

Ménage à trois because Bartaania superceeded its authority to indulge in BDSM to the AmeerKhans and are largely observers, who do sneak in a handjob from time to time. That's all they can afford after the belle hiked its rates.

Cheena is omnipresent- from the tallest to the deepest contours. So while this is a Ménage à Quatre in principle, for all practical purposes it is a Ménage à trois in a household of four.

I wonder where Saudis fit in...maybe with a riding crop in hand.
