There was a separate group of the same team attack the station, there are no marking on cuffs ..

Maybe, they must have stolen them from the Police Station which they attacked. Or else, this must have been an elaborate plan to masquerade as Indian Police.

BTW, are there any markings on the handcuffs?

great we must welcome these dunderheads to check in into our territory but ensure no one checks out.

good live target practice for our troops.

by no stretch of imagination they can overwhelm the IA, so these rag tag BAT teams supported by their SF are nothing but cannon fodder or target dummies for a point which will never be proven. Kashmir is ours , period

OK we didn't learn our lesson but they ( Pakistani) too didn't learn their's that this kind of M-e-M operations yields no result except being headline grabbing and bragging about it in forums.

Endgame near in J&K's Keran sector after 10 days

"We have foiled one major attempt to resupply the trapped infiltrators with food, ammunition and radio batteries from across the LoC, with active connivance of the Pakistan Army. But smaller bids to resupply them could have gone through. Our aim is not to allow any one of the infiltrators to escape back across the border, the only route now open to them," said a senior officer on Thursday.
With intermittent gunfire still underway in the thickly-forested Shala Bhata region, the Army says it will take "some more time" to "sanitize" the "800x300 metre" area to which the intruders have now been restricted after the "initial contact" was spread across a "4 to 5km frontage" on the night of September 24.

Not sure why gunships with rockets or flame thrower isn't used to wipe these piglets out. Whats with capturing them alive etc? Butcher them and display their burnt carcass to the world and pakis.

It's puzzling. Why would they carry handcuffs. Oh I get it. They must be trying to capture Indian soldiers and take them back to Paki land to display them as if they violated the border. That grand plan must have gone wrong with the auto wallah reporting their presence.

Did Keran infiltrators come to drop arms? - The Times of India

NEW DELHI: The infiltration and continuing resistance by 30-odd terrorists in Keran sector could be partly a mission to dump arms and ammunition for Kashmiri militants in the higher reaches before winter sets in.

Pointing out that this was one of the biggest groups to infiltrate into Indian side in recent times, sources said from the composition of the group and its size it is clear that all aren't terrorists. Some could well be porters and guides, and the mission could also be to dump ammunitions in strategic locations for Kashmiri militants. This is the largest number of terrorists to enter India this year.

Infiltration of a group of 174 terrorists, porters and guides in March 2009 is believed to be the largest single group Infiltration into India since 2002-03, when the security establishment started maintaining data on various aspects of Kashmir militancy.

The details of that 2009 infiltration emerged after the arrest of one of the infiltrators in the valley. Initially, it was incredulous to most, and the Army denied the possibility of such a large group infiltrating into Indian side. Later, the arrested person told his interrogators about the massive infiltration, and that 120 of them went back after dumping ammunition. Sources said the security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition based on inputs given by the arrested militant.

Some in the establishment are beginning to see a parallel between the 2009 infiltration and the ongoing one at Keran sector. For one, this is the largest number of terrorists to infiltrate this year into the Indian side. "It isn't normal for terrorists to come in such large numbers. They must have crossed the Neelam river that is under surveillance. So it was a difficult mission. There must be something more than just infiltration," an official said.

"If more than two dozen terrorists move together it would be easier to detect using our capabilities. And they are well aware of it. Why would they then move in such large numbers? The answer can only be that the mission was more than just infiltrating into Indian side," another official said.

Given the fact that the infiltration happened just before winter sets in, adds further credence to the theory that it may have also been a dumping exercise to provide arms and ammunition to Kashmiri militants. This theory also gains credibility from the fact that the Army shot dead a 45-year-old man just before the group was spotted. It is suspected that he was a guide.

Experts are also beginning to suspect that this unusually large infiltration and the attack on 16 Cavalry camp in Samba on September 26 may be linked. The Samba attackers are believed to have infiltrated a day earlier, while the Keran sector infiltrators are suspected to have crossed over on September 24.

they have all come to die here and we will send them to other world, where they will get their very old 72 virgins.

We should punish Pakistanis by taking out 5-10 of their post with guided bombs. Just to send clear and loud massage.
We should use the bullets which have been soaked into the pork stock, so that the haramkhors couldn't get entry into the Jannat.

It proves that Nawaz Sharif is a hypocrite, he will keep talking about peace and at the same time keep their Army and Terrorists busy in Indian borders.

We can't use our M-17, army tried for Dhruv's but due to terrain and forest cover it never worked, and they are vulnerable to small arm fires at such a low altitude. We need something like Spike or Javelin, a handheld powerpack to flush them out.

so using attack helicopters like rudra or mi 35 too is useless in these types of terrains ?

I dont buy any argument that this was surprise and unexpected attack as propounded by certain elements in IA ....there were any number of incursions, targeting of border posts , be headings, and even talks going around that certain commanders were ordered to stand down by the COAS, General Bikram Singh. Now comes news of another Kargil. This is a crisis of our own making.

Yes that's the problem which army is facing, this is the only reason why still operation is not finished. It's not acceptable from army's point of view to lose one helicopter just to kill few terrorist, so army has adopted more or less a classic approach of surrounding them, stopping their resupply and killing them one by one. This is long process of wait, track and kill, it will take some time before area gets sanitized. One thing should be very clear that it is not just terrorists but along with Pakistani special forces the cover fire is being provided by Pakistani regular forces from across the border to engage our army involved in the operation.

Add two more to the list of dozen or so tango killed
Two militants killed in Kashmir
SRINAGAR: Two militants were killed by the Indian Army in Kupwara district of Kashmir on Friday morning, where the Army foiled an infiltration bid.

Two intruding militants were killed in the Keran sector at the Line of Control (LoC), when alert troops of the Army spotted a group of infiltrating guerrillas and challenged them, a defence spokesman said.

The Army's operation against the 30-40 infiltrators in Keran sector has entered the 11th day on Friday.

The Army has claimed to kill 15 of these surrounded militants but so far no bodies have been recovered.

Defence sources said that for the last 24 hours, the probing fire by the Army has not been returned by the militants in the area where the Army is proceeding very cautiously to clear the cordoned area.

Covert operations are always sponsored by govts, be it Paki or India, US or Russia including China. How many are really successful will never become public. That doesn't mean this is dick measuring or balls counting. Even, there are allegations that Zia was assassinated by india or russia and aided by Zia's confidante. But does anybody know apart from those in IB & RAW ??
