Have look and trust me you will not be surprised!! (In page 2)

Imelda Marcos: 500 Millionen in der Schweiz. Rajiv Gandhi

And some Sycophants, NAC and self-proclaimed civil society (Tavleen Singh and Tehlka/NDTV staff members) suggest that the Indian Royal family does not have any Royal Accounts......Hear it from the horse's mouth, still you have doubts......GOD save the queen.....oops the Nation!

If the first family has no accounts in the Swiss bank as per this article then they should have sued the magazine and claimed millions as libel damages.

What illustrious gallery our former PM is in.

Lets just keep naming airports, ship terminals, huge sea links, cricket stadiums, welfare projects after this criminal as if he was some visionary or able ruler.

So Rajiv Gandhi took $2.5 billion according this magazine and yet his wife, son and daughter still are not satisfied?

Btw to see the PIC of a former Indian PM alongside of Nicola Caucescu,Saddam Hussein or Amin Dada gives an indication of the state of affairs in India.

    Indeed CONgress ki Jai Ho

This is just the tip of the iceberg with one Swiss account, we don't have any idea of the money which the Royal Family and its loyal coterie of India has at Liechtenstein, Cayman Islands, Mauritius, Hong Kong etc etc

I sense Indira Gandhi was the one who opened swiss account...other gandhis are just adding more and more money to it...
lets make rahul gandhi PM and then Gandhi family will have GDP more than that of a small country..

No, it says 2.5 billion. The word they use is milliarden which means "billion", as opposed to millionen which means "million".

I really doubt Rajiv Gandhi would have made $2.5 billion. The Bofors deal was for 400 million rupees. At that time about a $20 million deal.

Rajiv would be a real fool to open a Swiss account in his name.

Yusuf, Bofors was not the only deal. That was just a tip of the iceberg.

I still do not know what angst that magazine might have against Rajiv. Can anyone point out even a lame one?

Chanakya: You never know when a fish drinks water AND a minister/officers accepts bribes.

For him even a prime minister was not above suspicion.

Bofors and HDW deals were the big ones of the time. Bofors was about $20 million, HDW about 200. At the time he was the PM, there was not much money around to be made. I really doubt the billion mark.

Not sympathizers but reason seekers. $2.5 billion is a joke. It's huge even by today's standard. At that time there was no money to be made in India that could generate a 2.5 billion kickback.

HDW said it gave a 7% commission to a middleman. On 200 million that's 14million shared by quite a few people. We just cannot let figures fly without reason and exaggerate.

Don't you think even a fraction of a billion is too much. Not question of total quantum, it is question of the very integrity.

That's not the point. The point is coming up with sensational fugues that just don't add up. Even $25 million is digestible. Not 2.5 billion.

Integrity an corruption is not the point in this thread.
