Oil interests push China into Sudanese mire - The Washington Post
JUBA, South Sudan — At a restaurant along the River Nile offering crocodile and ostrich meat, officials of the world's newest — and desperately destitute — nation hosted a lunch this month for Liu Guijin, China's visiting envoy for African affairs.

Liu's visit to Juba, the dirt-track capital of South Sudan, which split from Sudan in July, came at a tense time: Sudan had just bombed a refugee camp, armed militias were mining roads, and troops were clashing in disputed border areas.

China is in Africa to suck its resources. Nothing new about it.

China's African interests are quickly going down the tubes...

The division of what until five months ago was a united country has pushed Beijing into a political minefield... Across Africa, China is getting tugged into local affairs. In Zambia, China's involvement in mining — and its close ties to the incumbent president — dominated a September presidential election. China's man lost. A multibillion-dollar, energy-linked Chinese loan to Ghana caused political ructions there. Leaders in Chad, meanwhile, have been struggling in recent weeks to tamp down public anger over a sudden boost in the price of gasoline produced by a new CNPC refinery near the Chadian capital.

Just the way west has been accused of doing that in Africa and Africans dictators allow that to happen to increase their bank balance while the masses suffer from hunger. How in the world they are so helpless victims all the time? I hope next decade will belong to Africans where the common person can assert their right and fight to obtain it as well.

China vows to support Sudan after southern secession

(Reuters) - China will support Sudan to develop its oil sector and other industries, its foreign minister said on Sunday, after the highest-level talks between the two allies since South Sudan became independent.

Yang Jiechi met north Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir and Foreign Minister Ali Ahmed Karti in Khartoum and said Beijing would continue its economic and political support..........

Yang said earlier that China would continue its efforts with the international community to find a final solution for the issue of the disputed border area of Abyei.

Beijing called on countries to normalize relations with Khartoum after South Sudan seceded last month and has also been keen to build a relationship with leaders in the south. Yang is expected to hold talks in the southern capital Juba on Tuesday.

Khartoum and Juba have yet to agree on who will control Abyei, stirring fears that long-running quarrel over the region could sour the secession and spark a broader conflict....

The above will indicate how China puts oil above all.

Till the secession of South Sudan, China was all in favour of North Sudan.

Come the secession, China has changed tack and is all over to woo South Sudan where all the oil is!!!
