    1939 German VID Tempo
    Gelaendewagen

Tempo was founded in 1924 by Oscar Vidal as the Vidal & Sohn – Tempo Werke in Hamburg, Germany. The company became well known in Germany for its line of small cars and vans, and later for its production of military vehicles during World War II.

The two exposed spare wheels at the center are free to rotate about their respective axles. In rough terrain this aided in the prevention of high-centering, reducing the tendency for the vehicle to become stuck while following artillery guns onto unimproved surfaces. In addition to conventional front wheel steering, the rear wheels are also steerable.

1,335 units were produced from 1936 to 1944, mainly for export as staff and command field cars. Foreign users included Romania, Sweden, Denmark, Latvia, Mexico, Brazil, Finland, and Chile. However, several dozen G1200s were used by Germany, in particular with the Nazi Party’s famed “Schutzstaffel” or “SS” which translates to “Shield Squadron.”

    1943 Ford GPW Military Jeep

One of the most famous military vehicles of World War II, the jeep originated in a prewar US Army requirement for a simple, inexpensive, and robust vehicle for basic utility chores. Its simple design proved to be adaptable to a host of military tasks including use as a scout vehicle, battlefield ambulance, communications vehicle, and staff car. The jeep was hailed as “the savior of World War II.”

The designation “GPW” breaks out as follows: “G” is “Government,” “P” represents “80-inch wheelbase reconnaissance” and “W” for “Willys” as they were the designers of the original blueprints on which the jeeps were based.

GAZ – AAAA. (1936), created on a base GAZ-А (Soviet license FORD-A). The car had a cart with two independent driven rear axles (6x4) , and had a pretty good cross. In In connection with the transition to a new model of the (GAZ-М1), developed a car (GAZ – M21). However, it did not go out into series. He was replaced by GAZ- 61 (4x4).

Basic non/light armored HMMWV's are also very good in hard terrain.

There are also proposals for heavier armored HMMWV's versions with better suspension that will preserve their great mobility.

And with Oshkosh TAK-4 independent suspension system, used for example on M-ATV.
