I decidet to start new thread -this time about tank numbers and it's operational status.

Poland:

All tanks used in Polish army (on paper):

128 Leopard-2A4
220 PT-91
351 T-72M1

whole: ~700 tanks

In operational status:
116 Leopard-2A4 in 10 Tk.Bde
12 Leopard-2A4 in Leopard-2 trening center.
~196 PT-91
~40-60 T-72M1 after rebuild

whole: 364-380 tanks, quite modern: 128 Leopard-2A4

Germany
Soon it will be only:

225 Leopard-2A6
125 Leopard-2A5 in reserve
~40 Leopard-2A4 "hidden" in trening units, factory teams, etc

whole: 390-400 tanks
operational status: 225 Leopard-2A6

Czech republic and Slovakia
30 T-72M4CZ
93 T-72M1 (during withdrawn)

Operational status: 30 tanks

Slovakia:
less then 30 T-72M in operational status only few tanks.

Ukraina

-106 BM Bułat (T-64BM) - in one Tank Bde.
-224 T-64BW in two Tank Bde.
- ~320 T-64BW in ten Mech. Bde.
~50 T-64BW in costal defense / marine
~120 T-64BW in other units
slighty more then 100 T-80 in reserve

And:
~2500 withdrawn T-64 tanks - most are junk now.

Operational status shoud have all T-64BM propably most T-64BW from both Tank Bde, and some part of the 320 T-64BW from mech bede.

Whole: 820 tanks.
Operational status: propably 500-620 tanks.

Belarus
Here is funny when we came to the numbers...

96x T-80B/BW (as Lindsky said - withdrawn and prepered to sell)
1400x T-72B/BW (oficcialy) but in fact - how many tanks shoud be needed for only 3 existed in Belarus army Mechaniseted Brigade ? Even if we take 112 taks for one Bde. (like in Soviet Union times) then we have 336 needet tanks. If we count other reserve brigade in Belarus army (2-3) able to have tanks then we have second 336 tanks on stock -and those value is the biggest from any possible now. (~680 T-72BV)
So we have:
~680 T-72BV

Operational status: ~336 tanks (T-72BV)

Russia

The most problematic country to estimate. Official data are taken from space and count anytching on tracks whit gun.
What is sure, quite young and shoud be able to fight:
-210 T-90A (Ob.188A1/A2)
-130 T-90 (Ob.188)
-220 T-72BA (Ob.184A/A1)
-450 T-80U (Ob.219) (Important - all T-80UD are sent to far est to the reserve. During war those tanks will replace T-80BV and those T-80BV will be sent to reserve brigades)
+
200 T-72BA1 during modernisation process (Ob.184A1/A2?) +15 new ordered T-90A
In operational status shoud be at least ~450 T-80BV (as value equal to T-80U numbers), and around 200 T-72B (more or less)

So soon we have:
225 T-90A
130 T-90
220 T-72BA
450 T-80U (reserve to replace T-80BV)
450 T-80BV
200 T-72BA1
~200 T-72B??

Whole ~1875
In sure operational status now: ~1225 (T-90, T-90A, T-80BV, T-72BA)
Modern: 225 T-90A...

+ mass of tank on junkyard, or other in "reserve" rather in unkown number...

BTW - Lidsky:
For last year:

12 brigades with T-80BV
1 brigade with T-80U
5 brigades with T-72BA
4 brigades with T-72BM/B3
7 brigades with T-72B
7 brigades with T-90A
Hom many tanks have now Russian Tk.Bde?

In Tank Brigade three tank battalions. The battalion has 31 tanks. But the brigade is not a military unit and their connection. Depending on the objectives of the composition may be increased.

Yes, because Western Europe has been conqoured by Yankee dollars...... Roubles are in dust bin.... Communism has been burried by Finance Capital and fourth wave technologies / Economy..

Capturing land is no longer the objective because land and its resorces are no longer the major means of production and basis for economic prosperity..... the major objective now is capturing human mind and controlling / generating human needs. The major objective now is capturing the waves, the air and technologies...

European land mass is no longer the center of the world economy hence no one will roll down there.....

Russia may require tanks to roll down over Chinese / CAR land mass.... spacially, The epi center of the control of the world is going to be CAR region..

@militarysta,

what do you mean by hidden in the numbers for Germany. Is this a strategic issue or have these tanks fallen off the grid due to maintenance issues.
Would be interesting to know about this.

Because , the population is only one of Pakistan, as equal 2/3 of the whole of Europe.

Germany and France had thousands of tanks during the Cold War. But if you are only surrounded by Allies, there is no reason for so many tanks.

More than 20 years have passed. Is a whole generation has grown up, which does not remember neither the USSR, nor the Warsaw Pact. Why remember the old?

Hidden - I means that eacht country whit their own tank industry (Germany, France, Russia, Ukriaina, in some way Poland and maybe UK) have some numbers of the tanks in factories stock as prototypes, for trening factory crews etc. Apar that eacht country have some tank in tank schools, on trening centers, etc.
In Germany case it's almoust 30-40 Leopard-2A4-A5-A6-A7 tanks (mostly A4 in OPFOR company). Those tanks ussaly are not count in many estimatous andoffcial data.

It's not necessery. Most european countries are in NATO and UE. Common economy, common defense. It's not neccesery to keep (like Poland in 1997) almoust 1800 tanks, or like Germany 2300 tanks when you have common defense. It's first reson.
Second reson is more complicated - most of modern NATO tank regiments are very good treined, whit very proffesional crews - treined on now unavaible level for Pakistani or Indian crews, and whit unavaible (now) C3 (combat command control). The same tank components (ex: ammo) is on first clas level.
In fact those 225 german Leopard-2A6 is more dangerous and valuable then 600 T-80UD + Al-Chalid, or 600 T-90S Bishma. Thats quality factor -in equipment, in trening, in support (logistis), and in C3. The same is about eacht USA tank regiment.
I saw what can do propper treined tank bde in action. And four yers ago polish 116 Leopard-2A4 from 10 Tk.Bde was better and more dangerous (and more more valuable) then whole rest polish ~680 T-72 and PT-91. And belive me that those 116 Leopard-2A4 and their cews where sigty whorse treined then german crews, and had not as better C3. Thats the power.

Pakistan has tanks to capture Red Fort in Delhi and declare that India once again has Mogul Rulership...... otherwise, Pakistan has no threat from any country to posses tanks. Afghan and Iranians would not employ tanks to capture Pakistan. India does not want any piece of Pakistan. So why do they have tanks... In past where did they use tanks?

India has tanks to defend her democrcy against the thoughts of imposition of a mediaval Muglai via Pakistan... or coverting India into Darul Ul Harb

Beta version so mistakes are really posible.

Key:
1. Only modern or quite modern tanks - so only III generation (Leopard-2, Leclerc, Challenger, Ariete)
2. Only in operational status (doubts marked on map.)
3, Only in significant numbers (circa 40 tanks at least)

So as can we see:

NATO or EU members:

UK: 345 Challenger-2 (soon only 200 tanks)
France: 400 leclerc (soon only 240 tanks)
Germany: 225 Leopard-2A6 + 40 "hidden" other Leopard-2
Spain: 219 Leopard-2A6E + 104 Leopard-2A4 (soon only 52 Leo-2A4)
Portugal: 37 Leopard-2A6
Italy: 200 C1 Ariete (doubt it is modern tank...)
Greece: 170 Leopard-2A6HEL + 183 Leopard-2A4 (soon + 400 M1A1?)
Turkey: 354 Leopard-2A4 (soon Altay)
Denmark: 51 Leopard-2A5DK
Norway: 52 Leopard-2A4
Poland: 128 Leopard-2A4 + 196 PT-91 (doub about it's modern..) (soon + 120 leopard-2A5)
not in NATO:
Sweeden: 120 Strv-122 (propably withdrawn 160 Strv.121)
Finland: 124 Leopard-2A4
Austria: 114 Leopard-2A4 (soon only 56 Leopard-2A4)

Estern Europe:
Belarus: between 330 and 450 T-73BW in operational status
Ukraine: 106 T-64BM Bulat + 224 T-64BW + 320 other T-64BW whit unkown operational status
Russia: 130 T-90 + 210 T-90A (soon 225) + 220 T-72BA (soon 420 T-72BA1-BA3) + 450 T-80U (Far East) + circa 500 T-80BW (mostly on east) + between 500 and 700 T-72BW whit unkown operational status.

What is funny? Any possible combo 3 bigger European NATO members have more modern tank then Russia...

The Russians must be expecting to change the scale to their favour with Armata.
