Assuming that India does not make it to NSG, what should our posture towards China be?
I specifically want govt of India to pay attention to the extreme tilt in the balance of payments by making use of any loopholes in WTO.

we should be in a state of realistic hope hope but have responses for all probable scenarios at our fingertips and ready to go at the right time

yes our diplomacy in the WTO will be v important and be prepared to call out the bad guy who is always breaking rules yet never gets punished

we should let prcchina and the world know that today's India is not yesterdays'
and we will not passively put up with nonsense from ANYONE and certainly nor from prcchina

all Indians should be called upon to make a national sacrifice to stay clear of their products and make a sacrifice to pay a bit more to buy from elsewhere and also to manufacture our own - ........ whatever it may be which we are giving large amounts of money for and we suffer adverse balance of payments ...whether cell phones etc

just as we have to take care in displaying the correct map of india and there is a fine if not , we should educate the trader who bring in tons of prcchina products to look for alternative sources and give them time-frame to do so

to sacrifice a small bit f for the greater national gain should be our motto if prcchina doesn't play fair with us in this and other important issues .

NSG was formed after our tests and we are trying to enter this shady ass group of retards who opposed us

yes anti dumping measures are one possibility ...... but the prob is not just dumping alone , is it an insistence of that country to always look for possibilities to cheat us .......and we have to re-educate them via economic and fiscal measures ....... so we can be creative and inventive ( as we indeed are ) and have some specific lovely measures specific to that wonderful should not have been neighbour

Threatening countries is not good diplomacy. Good diplomacy is trying to sway your opponent to your side by the virtue of your argument and talent for persuasion. And good diplomacy is give-and-take. Offer something Brazil wants and may be they will change their tune.

Some countries will remain unconvinced no matter what you do. Brazil, Austria, and New Zealand seems to have a fetish for NPT, which under no circumstances should India ever agree to. As for China and Turkey, the only thing they want is for their 'friend' Pakistan to join NSG with India.

India has stated it has no objection to Pakistan joining with India, so the issue remains with Brazil, Austria, and New Zealand.

Saw the debate about NSG on Arnoob's show.

Nothing special ie. Pakis are very nervous and insecure about India in the possible inclusion and creating misinformation propoganda.

One more thing KC Singh said is that India recently became the newest member of MTCR while China is still not a member.So China has applied for MTCR but didn't get it yet, so India CAN block entry of China in MTCR. Interesting point, so can India make a trade-off here?

Arnoob also said that Pakis should not bank upon China too much since big countries work majorly on reciprocal trade-off's and can ditch Pakis for their own self interest in this case.This left Pakis more disturbed.

Nikamme diplomats tried best to convince evert country, when China disagreed, there was on unofficial (secret) visit by Jai Shankar to PRC too. A many more desperate attempts by PM and diplomats.
We are getting closer to get NSG membership sooner or later (

FYI, NSG membership is considered by government for directly importing Uranium for producing 62000 MW electricity, (onevof the attempts to make India at least a second world country in terms of development, a better place for living like Eastern Europe if not at par with UK, Germany).)
Several projects are there, I guess a GDP(PPP) per capita of $15000 and ~$7500 nominally(and HDI of nearly 0.735) would be enough to attract you NRI guys to come back and start efforting for the country.

This is joke one country can refuse and you will not be accepted. Why even waste your time? Before manmohan Singh signed nuke deal with Bush he should have made this a condition to be accepted into NSG first. Looks like India will not get in without signing NPT
