I believe Kim Yong Un or whatever is the name has just become a father of a son!

Not correct of the UN to celebrate that with a sanction! ;)

There is a sharp difference between the two nations.
One is forced at gunpoint to toe the Govt. Position, to obey every word from a fat pig as law, while one nation has its entire populace willingly wanting to play nuke with anyone.
The govt. Of one is a terrorist, not the nation. But the other has even the local people willingly supporting terrorism. One can hope for a future, the other prays for others destruction. Big difference.

US indirectly provoking NK, as NK draw the first blood their destruction shall start. US can not afford to make the first move as it will draw sympathy for NK from China etc.

North Korea ends non-aggression pacts with South, cuts hotline

Pyongyang announced Friday that it is nullifying non-aggression pacts with South Korea and cutting the hotline with its neighbor. It comes after the UN Security Council adopted a resolution expanding sanctions against North Korea.

North Korea "abrogates all agreements on non-aggression reached between the North and the South," the state-run Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea said in a statement.

"It notifies the South side that it will immediately cut off the North-South hotline," said the statement, carried by the official KCNA news agency.

As tensions rise on the peninsula, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited military units responsible for launching the 2010 attack on the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong, calling on troops to be ready for a confrontation with the enemy, Yonhap news agency reported.

In response South Korea said it will hold a meeting of top security officials on Friday to discuss the escalating situation.

Earlier on Thursday a spokesman for North Korea's Foreign Ministry said his country may deliver a pre-emptive nuclear strike against its enemies in case an attack on Pyongyang is launched.

"Since the United States is about to ignite a nuclear war, we will be exercising our right to a preemptive nuclear attack against the headquarters of the aggressor in order to protect our supreme interest," said the statement.

The new UN resolution adopted Thursday was drafted by the US and China in response to Pyongyang's third nuclear test. It was approved unanimously by the 15-nation council, after three weeks of negotiations between the US and China.

It calls on the implementation of tighter financial restrictions on North Korea, and for a crackdown on its attempts to ship and receive banned cargo in breach of UN sanctions. It also calls on world governments to deny aircraft permission to take off, land or fly over their territory if illicit cargo is suspected to be on board.

The resolution condemns North Korea's latest nuclear test "in the strongest terms" for violating council resolutions, bans further ballistic missile launches, nuclear tests "or any other provocation," and demands that North Korea return to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.

It goes on to condemn North Korea's ongoing nuclear activities, including uranium enrichment. It also stresses the UN Security Council's commitment "to a peaceful, diplomatic and political solution," and urges that six-party nuclear talks be resumed.

Re: North Korea threatens USA with nuclear strike

N. Korean general says Pyongyang has nuke-tipped ICBMs on standby

A North Korean general said Thursday that the country has placed long-range missiles armed with nuclear warheads on standby, as Pyongyang said it will not bow to the United Nations resolution condemning its latest atomic weapons test.

According to the Rodong Sinmun, an organ of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Colonel General Kang Pyo-yong said soldiers are already positioned to launch a war of reunification if the order is given by its leaders. The paper said the general made clear at a speech given at a rally in Pyongyang that intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and other rockets capable of attacking pre-set targets have been armed with various types of atomic warheads.

Re: North Korea threatens USA with nuclear strike

If NK government's leadership could be decapitated in one strike, I hope that somebody is thinking about it.

Conversely, I have no idea why the the US is interfering with Syria, for example, except that it has the ability to do so. If US applied the same standards for its actions in Libya and Syria, for example, to NK, the B2s would be airborne right now.

Re: White House: US can defend against NKorea attack

I see China similarly going crazy on the world in the next 20-ish years. That is their window; having an excess of millions of young men.
China is the reason, I believe, that NK threats are hollow. China would not allow NK to start a war.

Well, PRC whatever we think about it, is still relatively reasonable country. North Korea is opposite, I fear that they might go nuts and then sh(i)t will hit the fan.

Problem is that they are not only say they will destroy someone, they are really preparing for this.

Re: North Korea Confirms It Conducted 3rd Nuclear Test

North Korea snaps peace pacts, hotline with SoKo

But technically isn't NoKo in war with SoKo from 50's. So what is this non-aggression pact??? Anyways is this buisness as usual or would this lead to some fireworks??

MODS: Please merge all the below mentioned threads here, as all these incidents talk about post nuclear test fallout.

1) North Korea threatens USA with nuclear strike
2) North Korea threatened South Korea with "final destruction"
3) North Korea warns US to cancel South Korea drills
4) South Korea military says ready to strike back if North attacks
Can you please use the report button on the threads ? Really difficult to track things this way

Re: South Korea military says ready to strike back if North attacks

South Korea faces the same problems the India faces with respect to a nuclear armed neighbour, yet their warnings of retaliatory attacks seem more convincing than India's.
Then you should watch Pak current affairs program. Pakistanis threat Indians every now and then with impunity.

Thanks
