Good bye, and good riddance. Easily the most Sinophobic member of the DoD management team.

Now that he's stuck with a mortgage but no paycheck, time for China to break his Sinophobia with a retainer, like they did to Bill Owens and Brent Scowcroft.

He won't. Carter burned up a lot of his own political capital pushing these initiatives. Nobody else other than Hagel in the DoD wants to champion them; Hagel is too focused on budget battles and sequester to devote his time here.

Finally, the Saudis are starting another round of lobbying at the DoD (a certain K street firm just picked up a $280mm contract) - you're going to see the needle swing back firmly in the direction of trying to help Saudi Arabia, and by extension, Pakistan.

    ToT? More like DoA.
