NEW DELHI/SRINAGAR: Army and police have managed to capture another terrorist alive in Jammu and Kashmir.

The terrorist was captured alive in Jammu and Kashmir's Rafiabad after an encounter.
Four terrorists were killed in the encounter.

Security forces are questioning the captured terrorist.

Arrested terrorist has been identified as 22-year-old Sajjad Ahmed, who hails from Muzaffargarh in south west Pakistan.

This is the second instance of a Pakistani terrorist being captured alive in a month.

Earlier, LeT terrorist Mohammed Naved Yakub was captured alive during a terror strike in Udhampur.

Naved Yakub, a resident of Pakistan, made a confessional statement before a magistrate on Wednesday in Jammu.

Under tight security, Naved, in his early 20s, was brought before a magistrate in Jammu where the judge asked him whether he was giving the confessional statement under any duress or voluntarily, official sources said.

Another Pakistani terrorist was nabbed by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir
A second Pakistani terrorist was on Thursday caught alive by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, less than a month after the capture of Mohammad Naveed Yakub, who has confessed the role of Lashkar-e-Taiba in carrying out strikes like the Udhampur attack in the state.

Security forces nabbed the 22-year-old terrorist and killed three others in an encounter in Rafiabad of north Kashmir's Baramulla district, authorities said.

"He told us his name is Sajad and Javed alias Abu Ubaidullah and is a resident of Muzaffargarh of Pakistan's
Balochistan," said a top police official.

"The encounter took place in the forest area of Viji under Panzulla police station in Sopore. The militants ran away towards Dooniwari forest which is adjacent to Vijji or Vijay top," he added.

He is being brought to Srinagar by chopper and the search operation to hunt other militants is on, the official said.

This is the second time in this month that a Pakistan national has been caught after violent attacks in the state. LeT operative Naveed was captured alive on August 5 after an attack on a Border Security Force convoy in Udhampur area in Jammu division.

According to Indian Army sources, a group of militants had managed to escape from the another encounter site in Kazinagar Dhar near the Line of Control in Uri on Wednesday. One militant was killed and an AK 47 rifle recovered in the encounter while four to five militants were believed to have escaped.

Those militants were trapped in Rafiabad's Vijay Top forest on Thursday and Sajad is one of them.

"As the search party intensified their operations, the militants tried to break the cordon but were engaged in an encounter by the army,'' said an army official.
