BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi will address the rally of ex-servicemen on Sunday in Rewari in Haryana state.
-The rally will be attended by around 1.50 lakh ex-servicemen, including NCOs and former officials of paramilitary forces.
-They are requested to wear their official caps and medals.
-Former Army chief Gen (retd) V K Singh, former Uttrakhand chief minister Maj Gen (retd) B C Khanduri, war widow and former MP Sudha Yadav and around 1,000 former colonels, lt colonels and commandants of para military forces will be attending the rally.
-A team of 25 former lieutenant generals and major generals will receive Modi after he arrives at the venue, Rao Tula Ram Sthal.
-The venue has been covered with a special tent spread over four lakh square feet, which can accommodate nearly three lakh persons.
-A pipe band featuring ex-servicemen will take Modi ji to the venue. Their special skills will be on display during the occasion as most of them have participated in the President’s retreat.
-The venue is three kms away from the parking area, so the organizers have hired 250 auto-rickshaws to bring participants to the spot.
-As such, the two gates of the venue are named after Rao Tula Ram, the Ahirwal leader who took part in the revolt against the British in 1857, and Colonel Hoshiyar Singh, the only Paramvir Chakra awardee from Haryana.
-Rewari area was known for its contribution to the armed forces where several generations of people had served the armed forces. The districts around Rewari – Mahendragarh, Jhajjar and Hisar – had the highest concentration of ex-servicemen in the country.
-Haryana BJP president Ram Bilas Sharma had deputed party leaders Capt Abhimanyu and Sudha Yadav in charge of this rally.
-Haryana is Congress-ruled state, and present Chief Minister of the state has time and again compared himself with Modi and claimed better performance. It seems the infamous dirty tricks department is active in Haryana ahead of Mr. Modi’s rally.
-Haryana BJP leadership this week complained to the district police chief that some anti-social elements had been damaging hoardings and posters of the rally.BJP leaders claimed they had got reliable information that many Youth Congress activists had sneaked into the city to disrupt the ex-servicemen’s rally.
-In entire Rewari as many as 250 posters and hoardings are suddenly visible. The posters describe Modi as enemy of farmers. According to a report in local newspaper,4 lakh has been spent on this poster war by anti-Modi elements.

STAGE is set for massive PR exercise touching all the issues that are currently "hot".

Portraying Modi as the man who cares and who will secure the interest of the nation. Though its part of the game atleast one politician who cared to address the ex-servicemen and who shows interest in defence of nation.

Pappu is happy with feeding us with four square meals. chvtiya..

I wrote to NAMO a few days back to announce a separate pay commission for Armed forces as it was before independence and Tax free salary for those who are serving in forward/battle areas besides one rank one pension. India is now a police state and the strength of Military and paramilitary forces including retd ones is nearly 4% of our population if we include their family memebers. It cud be more.
Instead of chasing muslim votes, go for those who have no inhibitions for NAMO and support him. I hope he does so 2mrw as now as NDA PM candidate he can offer inducements and make promises. I got a reply from his team which was very encouraging.

Modi is right that problem lies in Delhi, not at borders. Govt policies have to provide the first line of defence, and here UPA has failed.
