I would like to know from fellow Members what do they think about how or can india compete with china?
We are still 15 years behind to pose any sort of a challenge to China. But we need to start working on that now. If there is a strong political will we can move forward very fast. However, people to change their mindset and be enterprising. The key lies in the poorer states like UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and WB. These states have high density of population and also high unemployment rates. Get these buggers some real work (not MNREGA work). I think Orissa is a rich state with poor people. With good central government support and high level of transparency it can be one of the richest state in the country.
23 years ago india and china were at almost par economy, i think if india gets it act right india can get ahead of china in 30 years minimum
Past is past
anyway the Authoritarian rule done marvelous job by implementing One child policy, gave importance to Infra&Mfg etc
Our CONgi Social/Sickulars made hell in India
Now we have some kind of Authoritarian rule (full majority) One child etc not possible but i hope Edu,Infra&Mfg will rise
automatically Well educated with good infra&Mfg facilities with cheap labor create Huge jobs and i think we may par with China in 2028
china developed cause it got support from nixon and american FDI.
These buggers from UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and WB are the migrant laborers who have built the nation (physically, not rhetorically). They are still building & maintaining the India we live in. They would continue to do so. Surprised that you imagine them to be idling around.
First we will have to atleast grow on the same Rate as china is growing, china cant sustain its growth for more than 10 years from now, But india with its potential Can Start to outgrow china after 10 years, then the catching up will start
Migrant labourers are hard working chaps. It is a phenomenon all around the world. I have a lot of respect for guys who are willing to leave there own state to work and better their lives. But for the people who want live and survive on government subsidies like MNREGA and FSB are the kind I despise. We need to get rid of these kind of subsidies or at least get them some real work. And yes people working in MNREGA are people who prefer idling around. I can say from experience that since MNREGA has started there has been an acute shortage of labour in our manufacturing sector. This free ka maal culture that MNREGA and FSB is proposing is the biggest hurdle in the development of the country.
BTW, I used the word bugger in gentle informal manner, and not as an abusive slang. My apologies if you thought otherwise.
I think another important another work in progress is to expose the NGO's that have created a cottage industry for themselves at the cost of development. The government seems to be playing its cards well
Indeed they are. Bihar also gives large no of youngsters to Indian Army.
People from every part of the country are in the army! we should not bicker about who is in the army from which region, spare army from the regionalism in india!
China has favorable trade terms that India does not. One example most favored trade
Nation status from America for last two decades.
to enlighten u of the accurate meaning of MFN
Most favoured nation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[QUOTE}In international economic relations and international politics, "most favoured nation" (MFN) is a status or level of treatment accorded by one state to another in international trade. The term means the country which is the recipient of this treatment must, nominally, receive equal trade advantages as the "most favoured nation" by the country granting such treatment. (Trade advantages include low tariffs or high import quotas.) In effect, a country that has been accorded MFN status may not be treated less advantageously than any other country with MFN status by the promising country. There is a debate in legal circles whether MFN clauses in bilateral investment treaties include only substantive rules or also procedural protections.[/QUOTE]
The so called MFN is only "NORMAL" trade relations.
Next time find a better excuse for Indian failures with USA.
China was not USA largest trade partner before mfn status so I disagree.
Get more Indians to learn and speak mandarin as a third language.
China wasn't USA's largest trade partner long after MFN either.
And there wasn't trade relationship until 1980s between these 2 countries.
So, what is your point?
But they need to build their own states and not others because others and prospering, they are not!
And because of the backwardness of the large North Indian states India remains backward.
Chinese economic rise is solely from US trade
You can that Chinese benefit a lot from the trade with US. But it would be a overstatement that its rise is SOLELY from US trade since US didn't give China a special status among its trading partners.
Besides, the trading volume with US has never been over 50% of Chinese total foreign trade.
