Narendra Modi has lost control over his mind: Gujarat Congress

Castigating Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his allegation that Sonia Gandhi's foreign trips were funded from public exchequer, the state Congress unit today said the BJP stalwart has "lost control over his mind and is suffering from "inferiority complex".

Modi today targeted the Congress President claiming that Rs 1880 crore has been spent from the public exchequer on Sonia's foreign trips in the past three years.

Reacting to the charge, state unit Congress president Arjun Modhvadia said, "Modi has nothing do with Sonia Gandhi's foreign trips because the expense has been borne by Congress. Modi has lost control over his mind and he is suffering from inferiority complex that is why he is making such comments."

He was speaking to reporters after taking stock of the ongoing preparations ahead of Sonia's visit on October 3.

"The Congress president will address farmers convention at Race Course ground on Wednesday," Modhvadiya said, adding Sonia is likely to visit some historic places like "Gandhi Smruti", Ramkrishna Ashram and Bal Bhavan during the visit.

Addressing a rally at Jesar, Modi said, "To those Congress friends, who are accusing our government of uncontrolled expenditure, I want to ask: is it not true that on the foreign travels of the President of the Congress Party, Sonia Gandhi, in the past three years, Rs 1,880 crore has been spent from the public exchequer."

Ideal way to prevent Congress from setting the agenda of the election. Now Antonia will just have to defend this allegation. Nothing else will be noticed. Of course Rajdeep'OldMonk'Sardesai will try his best using his mocking shrill tone to drown the cacophony, but who will listen.

If what NaMo claim is not correct then congress party have to come up with the proof that Sonia's trips are not on public money.
One more thing i am wondering. In 21st century india is emerging as major medical tourism hub, why she need to go to US for the treatment? of course she is not taking treatment in US public health system (AS she is not US citizen or US tax payer) and Private medical sector is so costly, if she and her family is so clean (non-corrupt) then how can she afford?

Other thing what is income of party? do congress party run any company? any political party have line of "donor" (Who have faith in party and its agenda) who donate money for the party and running expenses. If Sonia had travel on Congress party expenses then also its public money. Sonia is party president and she dont hold any central govt or state govt position which is justified to travel overseas for country's favor, so she have no right to use public money.

It is good that Narendra Modi raised this issue, it is something that our paid media will never ever question - i.e. any fact relating to the Royal Family of Congress aka owner of the mafia called Congress. At least there is some discussion about it.

As for the expense itself, if it is not the taxpayer i.e. central govt paying, then Congress party has not revealed its income/expenses correctly as 1880 crores is a huge amount. Congress should explain. Else someone should file PIL.

Congress is really pissed. They use to release points or freebies with great fan fare but since modi has entered in election mode no one is giving importance to their campaign or their freebies. That is the reason they have to dial 10 janpath as they have already seen their ship sinking. People are talking points even if it is very trivial one raise by modi but no one is giving two hoots about congress. Even people are giving some what importance to 'The Trojan' Keshubapa. Shankarsingh is almost close to begging. He told to a maldhari convention you have elected BJP now elect us. (have amne jitado :D)

Instead of campaigning they have been reduced to giving clarification to whatever points modi has raised which should have been the other way around. Gujarat Congress leaders wants to compete with Modi but he has not even once mentioned them, his target is Sonia/Raul and Central Leadership which hurts them even more the blatant denial of existance by your sworn enemy :D

This 1880 crore figure had appeared in Samna (Shiv Sena mouthpiece) in Nov 2011 -

    Link

And then in some Gujarati paper as well -

Clipping of jaihind daily, 12th July-2012 : DigitalEdition

From snippings on Net, Mrs Sonia Gandhi and her family travelled by private jet on her foreign trips, SPG men travelled and stayed with her, an entire floor in Sloan Kettering was booked for Sonia Gandhi and a senior person like Pulok Chatterjee was at their beck and call. If Congress and paid media dont want such speculations floating around then let the facts be reported transparently. In this respect India seems to be worse than any dictatorship where Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are the Ones that must not be Talked about. Media and Congress party are making them into Divine Beings or Monsters depending on one's viewpoint.

No Head of State in any democracy is hidden from public view by colluding media [Sonia Gandhi is effectively Head of State as nothing moves without her approval, the Prime Minister is a rubberstamp is well known]. Madness.

Janta Janardan will vote him whatever propaganda circulated.Gujarati newspapers saying Modi trapped on this remark but nobody tried to question Sonia. RTI activist has filled petition in 2010.He still didn't get the answer.Even he contacted CIC for this matter and CIC creticized and directed PMO for this.Still they didn't reply.

Media Crooks: Flanking The Queen & Protecting Her Secrets

In 1991 at the start of the first Gulf war the Alliance commander, Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf had his forces in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Naturally, Saddam Hussein and his army expected an attack from the east. Well before the actual attack Schwarzkopf had moved a large number of forces and Iraq was attacked from the south. The war was over in 100 hours. While flanking the enemy there was an element of surprise. Many marketing terms have been derived from military strategies and tactics. On a simple board the game of Chess explains it just as well. Let’s take a media example: Times of India.

TOI’s greatest possession and brand is TOI, particularly the ‘Mumbai’ edition, which is also referred to as “The old lady of Boribunder”. It has a defensive flank to protect that brand. Sometimes it will throw up a paper called “The Independent” (Late 80s with Vinod Mehta as its editor) and kill it when the job is done. It will surround itself with a variety of magazines and tabloids, mostly enterainment, but ones that will keep the competition fighting silly battles but not dare to directly attack TOI. Is ‘The Hindu’ a threat? Okay, before they get to Mumbai, let’s take the battle to Chennai where The Hindu is strong and launch TOI. Let The Hindu keep fighting TOI in Chennai instead of entering the battlefield in Mumbai. Some may or may not know but the TOI even launched a Gujarati edition early 90s to battle local papers in Gujarat. It was simply called “Times of India-Gujarati”. That too was killed within a year. Naukri.Com threatens Ascent? Let’s combat them with Timesjobs.Com even if it has to play second fiddle. Over the years TOI-Group has killed Illustrated Weekly, Indrajal Comics and some more to protect its Old Lady. Lately, to cater to the “mini-bar-at-home’ types they have “Times-Crest” so that any newspaper wanting that space battles Crest and not the main TOI. TV cornering all PR money? Okay, let’s come up with “private treaties”. News channels eating into our business? Throw in TimesNow, ETNow, TimesMovies.

The Congress party in India runs a defensive flank too; one that protects the Gandhi family at any and all costs. Like a 'flank opening' in a game of Chess. There are pawns like Suresh Kalmadi and there are other pieces like Natwar Singh. Even large pieces like the late Vilasrao Deshmukh, Shivraj Patil or Ashok Chavan can be sacrificed. Mind you, if the worst ever happens even a Chidambaram or Sibal can be sacrificed to protect the King and the future King (In the Congress’ case we would have to substitute it with “Queen” and “future king”). It’s a flank that will do or die in protecting the queen, the most important and powerful piece on the board and also the King, who is practically a useless figure in the game, but his survival is the key. Do remember, the first flank in the line of defence is the MSM. The crooks! On October 1 someone did a Schwarzkopf to these flanks. Narendra Modi pulled out a newspaper, waved it and publicly stated 1880 Crores were spent on Sonia Gandhi’s travels and treatment over the last 3 years.

That wasn’t a bullet, that was a bomb that was rocketed towards the queen and naturally all the tin soldiers quickly assembled to encircle the queen to protect her. There was Manish Tiwari, Rashid Alvi, Renuka Chaudhary, Rajiv Shukla, Sagarika Ghose, Rajdeep Sardesai, Arnab Goswami and maybe some more. All encircling the queen in protection like an old Roman army formation. But where do our media run to first? Typically, TimesNow ran first to Digvijaya Singh. In the post ‘Stenographers & stray dogs” I had mentioned how the media treats its beat reporters like stray dogs and sends them running for crumbs to someone who always throws them bits and pieces of nonsense. Diggy didn’t fail them. He said: “Modi is a RSS Pracharak and RSS teaches its cadres to lie and shout those lies loud”. That’s a good start isn’t it?

So Rajdeep starts off with calling it a “personal attack”. Hmm.. how is the expense on a MP and a Cabinet rank political member a personal attack if the expenses and secrecy are questioned? Not to be left behind, the Social Genius follows ‘Numero Uno’ with the 1880 crores figure being “fantastical” in a tweet. Yeah, “Miss India” knows all the answers to such questions even before being asked. There, that’s the problem. Narendra Modi only opened up a can of worms that the media should have opened long back. They didn’t have the guts.

The media never asked questions about Sonia’s illness or treatment. They never asked questions about how she travelled and what the expenses were or who bore those expenses. Nothing! In fact, in an interview with Arun Jaitley, Barkha Dutt even asked him if it was fair to ask questions (on another issue) to Sonia Gandhi when she was ill. I guess that is why all our media folks were rattled, not knowing which way to jump when Modi brought up the question. We can, of course, dismiss the gutter rants of Manish Tiwari. We can also dismiss Renuka Chaudhary who believes guffawing like a hyena is good argument or defence. What we cannot dismiss is why the media was brazenly attempting to paint this as dirty personalised politics.

Having seen Modi quoting the figure of 1880 crores, all in the media, Rajdeep, Arnab and every Johny and his little dog were asking Modi to substantiate his claim. Looks like no one noticed that Modi flashed a newspaper from which he quoted the report and the amount spent on Sonia’s trips. Never mind! More important question is: Why should Modi have to prove something printed in a newspaper? Is it really his job? The real problem is that it wasn’t one newspaper that printed it in July 2012 and yet all our media folks ignored that report when published. Now that the report is being quoted, instead of verifying and fact-checking they are asking Modi to substantiate the report. Haha.. Can there be a more stupid case of media incompetence anywhere in the world? I doubt it.

The only person on any channel to have dug up info and verified the report was Prabhu Chawla (on CNN-IBN) who had cross-checked with “Jayhind”, the newspaper that carried the report based on an agency report. Now, Rajiv Shukla even called the agency (Hindustan Samachar) a RSS mouthpiece. Maybe he looked up and found a RSS-feed icon somewhere on their website and confused it. So Arnab gets the editor of Jayhind online and asks him about the report. The editor, Yashwant Shah, quite flustered with all the surround-sound and sudden attention to his small newspaper, meekly asks why his paper is being mentioned and not the agency which released the report. Arnab quickly concludes Yashwant Shah disowned his report. And Renuka Chaudhary claims the editor has rejected Modi’s claim. Have you seen greater stupidity by two people on national TV anywhere? But there, that’s our media for you. Sometime earlier in the day, TimesNow also contacted Ramesh Verma, whose RTI application was the one being referred to by newspapers and he claimed no knowledge of it. Quite surprising but it doesn’t alter the fact the news item was indeed published. (The report of Jayhind newspaper with the article in Gujarati is in the pic. Thanks to @sureshnakhua).

Regardless of what Narendra Modi said it is shameful for our media to not look inward and ask the question why they don’t have the details of Sonia Gandhi’s frequent trips abroad and what her illness and treatment was. They don’t even know if she is still afflicted by Cancer or fully cured. You should know this as much as you know about cricketer Yuvraj Singh. A few days back the media proclaimed Anjali Damania as a great hero for her unsubstantiated claims against Nitin Gadkari. Here you have a newspaper report which Modi throws at them and they are asking him for evidence. Even if we assume the figures or report was wrong, the questions need to be asked of the newspapers and news agency which published these reports. Media has no business in desperately wanting to hang Modi. If in his place it had been a media man they would have screamed “don’t shoot the messenger”. Wouldn’t they?

The latest is that media crooks claim Modi has apologised when he has not. What he did say was that he would apologise if proved wrong. Now that is trouble! Who’s gonna prove him wrong? And on what? To prove him wrong someone will need to come out with the correct figures spent on Sonia Gandhi’s travels and treatment. Coming out with those facts can be bad news for Congress and its foot soldiers in the media too. That’s the Catch-22 situation Modi has put them in. And Modi dropped the bomb just a day before Sonia Gandhi is to visit Porbandar on Gandhi Jayanti and campaign in Gujarat.

Just a few days back Mamata Banerjee slapped Rajdeep with a question: “Why don’t you ask this question to Soniaji, because you people don’t have the guts”. Oh.. you see they were busy playing the role of ‘Ten Tin soldiers’ in her flanks protecting her from any serious questions. Now that someone surprised them like Schwarzkopf did, they’ve been caught with their pants (dirty ones) down. Lesson for the media? Don’t flank the queen or future king. Democracy doesn’t have those, flank the Truth and protect it. You might still die, but it would be an honourable death!

Modi was talking about: expenses when she went there just to see her mother and that too eight time.

Sonia’s foreign trips: Round 1 to Modi

    Sandipan Deb

First Published: Wed, Oct 03 2012. 12 15 PM IST

    Updated: Wed, Oct 03 2012. 01 33 PM IST

By maintaining its silence about how much public money has been spent on Sonia Gandhi’s foreign travels, the Congress is walking into Narendra Modi’s cleverly set trap.
The figure appears utterly absurd: Rs.1,880 crore spent on Gandhi’s foreign trips over the last three years. That’s Rs.1.7 crore per day. But this is the allegation Narendra Modi has made, citing a newspaper report, and has stirred up a political storm. The report claimed that the figure was given by the government in response to a Right to Information (RTI) application.

Since then, Ramesh Verma, the man who filed that application, has revealed that he has received no reply to his request for information. So no one has any idea what the true figure is. But this just seems to have enthused Modi even more. If the figure he quoted is not the right one, he has asked, then what is the actual amount of public money spent on Mrs. Gandhi’s trips? And if his figure is wrong, he has said, he is willing to apologise.

The Congress has responded angrily, saying the figure was “totally baseless”, and calling Modi a “fascist” (which is something the Gujarat chief minister should be used to being called by now). But the point is that Verma made his RTI request more than two years ago, and his application form has been bouncing about between the Prime Minister’s Office and several ministries ever since. He has not got an answer. And Sonia Gandhi, being a member of Parliament who holds the Cabinet rank as chairman of the National Advisory Council, is certainly a public servant, and the question, since it involved public money, is as valid as any that can be asked under the RTI Act.

But the Gandhis don’t answer questions. They never have. There was impenetrable mystery built around Rahul Gandhi’s education and career before he joined politics. Exactly what purpose it served is still not clear. Surely the people of India have the right to know an MP’s educational qualifications and work experience? And would it have mattered at all if Rahul Gandhi was not a graduate? (In fact, it has since come out that he is actually a postgraduate, and worked for several years in London in a management consultancy firm). Plus, the RTI Act has been tom-tommed at the slightest excuse by the Congress as one of the great achievements of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. But why does the RTI stop at the Gandhi family?

Trouble is, the more the government maintains its silence over a question of public interest (which certainly does not intrude into Sonia Gandhi’s private life, like what disease or condition she has been getting treated for), the more ammunition it gives to the opposition, especially a smart politician like Modi. Gandhi is supposed to be in Gujarat in the next few days, in the run-up to the state elections, but this question will be hanging in the air. It’s a trap that Modi has set, and the Congress seems to be walking into it, because no one dares to tell Gandhi that it’ll be far better if she asks the government to reply quickly (given the way this government is run, it is quite likely that Verma’s question will continue to be stonewalled till there is a go-ahead from 10 Janpath).

Doesn’t the party realize that this is just the sort of thing that spreads like wildfire at election time through the rumour mills. This absurd figure will get inflated as it passes from mouth to mouth, and who knows what sort of embellishments will be added? And Modi, being the sort of politician he is, has already done the damage. Even if the government releases a figure now, the BJP machinery in Gujarat will try to create the impression that the government fudged the figure, that’s why it took so long to make it public.

That high wall that Sonia Gandhi has erected around her family may well be able to maintain the “First Family” aura that surely works with a large mass of the electorate, but under attack from someone like Modi and his brand of storm-trooping politics, it could turn out to be a weakness.

The entire propaganda machinery of congress is active to protect queen bee. Even CIC is behaving like her spokesperson. They didnt provide answer to RTI application but they are readily rejecting claims made by modi. This show how scared are they.

In fact, it looks like congress is not giving answer to what NaMo asked but to be safe in future, they are informing us, via media that GoI didn't paid the bills for medical treatments.

So please don't ask GoI about it.

Someone else, an individual had paid it.

What questions media should be asking Sonia Gandhi and Congress but does not have guts to. Instead they will focus on petty Karnataka MLAs from small towns like Kolar and Davanagere insisting on foreign jaunt when the state was suffering from severe drought (Times Now showed footage of renegade Karnataka MLAs in South America!).

(Compiled from Twitter tweets and sources on Net)

Questions Indian Media should be asking about Sonia Gandhi's secret foreign trip expenses:

Italian Godmother is running out of her time. Mark my words, in 5 years time, she has either fled to Italy or is in jail. By the look of things, the latter is more likely.
As you've all mentioned, the media is busy protecting Maino, and Rajdeep, Barkha, Arnab and others are going full steam in trying to confuse the public and distract them, however, are ending up embarrassing the Indian National Criminals even more.
