Narendra Modi asks Pakistani delegation to leave Gujarat

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has done what the Centre 's failed to do. Modi has politely asked the Pakistani delegation at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit to leave in view of the escalating tension along the Line of Control .

According to reports, the 22-member delegation was asked by the Modi government to leave the Summit owing to the friction at the border. The delegation left Gujarat by Friday evening. The Gujarat government, however, has refused to comment on the matter.

Sources say the delegation's presence at the event would have caused embarrassment to the BJP's leadership that has taken a strong position against the Centre's response to the LoC ceasefire violation.

The 22-member delegation from the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was expected to attend the inaugural session of the Vibrant Gujarat summit on Friday, was asked to stay indoors in a plush hotel in Ahmedabad.

Some members of the delegation reportedly wanted to visit Surat and Bharuch. They were escorted to Surat from where they left for Mumbai. They were even not allowed some sight-seeing in Ahmedabad.

After his Sadbhavana fasts, Gujarat Chief Minsiter had asked the UPA government in late September 2011, to ease visa rules for Pakistani tourists eager to visit Ajmer Sharif shrine while addressing the Indian Association of Tour Operators in Gandhinagar.

Modi must have done what he did keeping this in view because if some mishap happened, it would have tarnished him image and given grist to Stealavad and friends.
