NAC tells govt: Give job scheme minority focus | The Asian Age

With general elections just about a year away and the government struggling to enact politically sensitive food security and land acquisition bills, the National Advisory Council headed by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi has recommended that it further expand the Prime Minister’s 15-point programme for minorities to include the UPA’s flagship rural employment guarantee scheme under it.
In a report to the government, a copy of which is with this newspaper, the NAC suggested that only a limited number of schemes be part of the 15-point programme. “Therefore, there is scope for expansion to include other schemes, such as small and medium industries, youth affairs, agriculture and NREGA,” it said.
Sources said once the government accepts the NAC’s suggestion, Muslims, who constitute the biggest minority community — around 20 per cent of India’s population going by the 2011 census, will get jobs under the scheme on a priority basis.
“The government may also consider implementing NREGA in Muslim villages in a focused way and also carve out a special fund from the allocation for the rural development ministry”, sources said

This way congress always uses minorities (muslims) as a vote bank since decades and never wanted progress for them....It's a shame some of here still don't understand and worship congress and Gandhi family like god.

NAC is nothing but a propaganda think tank for Congress. In the typical congi fashion it's given an harmless sounding name to fool the public. Watch out whenever you hear the word 'NAC'.

Do you want to say muslims are 20% according to 2011 census.
rise up from 13.43% in 2001 census.
    what a non sense.
muslim would be around 14.3-14.6% when final report on religion will come.

to become 20% of india's population in 2011 from 13.4% in 2001 muslims population growth had to be 77% from 2001-11

According to national commision for minorities you will get religious minority
    status only if you are-
    1.muslims,christian,buddhist,sikh,parsee.
2.the state in which you are living your religious community is less than 50% of state's population.

    so because of this-
    1. muslims from j&k, sikhs from punjab, christians from meghalaya, mizoram, nagaland, buddhist from arunachal are not eligable for religious minority status.
2.Hindus won't be eligable for minority status in any states of india as they are collectively 80% of india's population.
    be it j&k,punjab,arunachal,meghalaya,mizoram,nagaland.

My mistake i write wb in the place of india.
muslims would be 26.9% of west bengal population.
india's muslim population would be 14.3-14.6%.

How can muslims becomes 20% in 2011 from 13.4% in 2001. is it possible.
to become 20% muslims have to grow 77% btw 2001-11
