Most Beautiful/Inspiring National Anthems

This has gotta be one of, if not the best national anthem ever written. Amazing background score, inspiring lyrics, and powerful visuals. Makes me feel nostalgic for the USSR, even though I've never been there before.

What's interesting to me is that in the Soviet anthem, Russian interests specifically are glorified, even though the USSR was supposedly not ideologically driven by ethnic nationalism, as they had vast territories of differing races. I believe this flaw ultimately lead to the USSR's collapse in favour of a Russian federation.......

How do you come to that conclusion? Did you know that in the USSR, people of various ethnicities used to freely marry each other? After it broke up though, race and ethnicity based groups and political parties began appearing, and I've heard that in today's Russia, it's unthinkable to marry outside your ethnicity. The USSR's education system emphasized on the commonalities between people, and the basic tenet of socialist ideology itself is the equality of all human beings. Even in the video, you will notice that all the ethnic peoples of the USSR are represented, from the Slavs to the Central Asians as well as those in the Far East.

However it is an unbelievably rousing anthem, very melodic and inspiring in that old world sense.

It was Yeltsin and his Ukrainian and Belarussian counterparts who were responsible. The people in an immediately previously concluded referendum voted for keeping the union. So no, the people were not the problem.

The South African anthem sounds like it was written by a bunch of hippies....

And the Sri Lankan sounds too insipid.....like a forgettable Bollywood song.

Little known fact: UNESCO actually selected the Indian National anthem, Instrumental as the Best National Anthem last year.
