Manila and the Catholic majority need to respect the aspiration of the muslim minority and make peace with them !

Bangsamoro declarations of independence - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It involves present-day Malaysia?? So the international mediation is also entailed.
Practice what you preach before You lecture us about how to respect Religions. The war in mindanao is not entirely about religion. In the Philippines, everybody is free to practice whatever religion they want. Muslim holidays are celebrated as public holidays. Look in the mirror buddy it is Beijing and the rest of the han Chinese who need learn the word respect

Taps to those who have sacrificed their lives in the name of peace. The only consolation here is that the target, fckin Malaysian JI bomb expert, zulkifli bin hir aka manwar, was likely neutralized.

And your point is...???

@J20
My point is simple and obvious. That article doesn't account for the Muslim losses in this confrontation. Combatant or non-combatant.

So before sympathizing with the police commandos raiding a village and calling Islam a "billion-strong pandemic" consider the other side of the story.

With Western media outlets already associating these rebels with ISIS, it's only a matter of time before corporate media convinces the world to go bomb the "islamic, fanatic" rebels in the Philippines,

I don't think rebels capable of killing 40 commandos are in anyway innocent or they deserve any recognition. Why does it matter how many of them were killed? the more the better actually.

And on second thought, People who criticizing Islam don't just do it for any single incident. Why is that every time there is an horrible terror incident islam is related? people get sick of it. Now i'm not jumping into conclusion saying islam is the root of all evil but if your people are using it for this reason be ready to face the consequences.

You must be thingking that press freedom in the Philippines is as bad as China's. This article was the very first ones which came out right after the incident. A lot of updates followed. There were significantly less KIA from the rebel side and 2 injured civilians. Feel free to google it yourself (oops google is blocked in China.. if you are there). The whole story is really like a scene from an action movie. In the end, due to unfamiliar terrain and the fact that the area was almost entirely rebel populated (like a scene from Black Hawk Down), 44 brave officers were KIA. There were 2 major rebel camps in the area and packets of private armed groups scattered all around. The containment group (they were actually a special group of 392 POLICE officiers divided into assault, containent/blocking and reinforcement, ) was actually trapped surrounded and pinned, while the assault group was able to escape. So that explains why there were more casualties on the government troops
What happened on the ground?

The 392 police commandos were divided into groups were positioned as early as 3 a.m. on Sunday. The plan, according to Napeñas, was for a surgical operation of only 30 minutes. Four nipa huts in the village were the targets of the assault.

At 4:20 a.m., part of the assault force was able to enter the nipa hut where Marwan was sleeping, Napeñas said.

"Marwan woke up, that was around 4:30 a.m., and he managed to be the first to shoot, that's why some of us were hit. But we returned fire and killed him outright," he said.

The exchange of gunfire brought Marwan's security to action. As the policemen were about to pull out, they came under fire from all directions, Napeñas said.

When the firing became intense, one SAF officer extracted DNA from Marwan, Napeñas said. Then the assault team decided it was best to bring Marwan's body and shoot its way out of there, he said.

The team got out, said Napeñas, who described the other side as BIFF and MILF forces who "came from all directions."

At past 6 a.m., the joint monitoring team from the MILF and the government called a ceasefire, Napeñas said, but the "MILF did not stop shooting."

So your point is we should sympathize with the Muslim group after they killed officers serving warrant of arrest for a high value terrorist (this terrorist was responsible for the Bali bombing which killed more than 200 lives, more bombings in Mindanao and training other terrorist on bomb making). It is funny to read these from you Chinese posters. I remember in some thread about the Ulighurs, where you guys were inisisting that these Muslims must be taught a lesson. You really know how to use arguments at your convenience.

it took 44 lives of brave men sacrificed but much more lives will be saved now that this terrorist, an expert bomb maker and on top of the FBI's most wanted list, is forced into retirement!

Is that Trolling ?

Before getting knee jerking conclusions, Know about what you are talking ( Geography, History and Culture ) ..

Its called critical thinking guys. If 40 police "commandos" where killed in this attack on a remote village, how many civilians died? Why are the casualties of the rebels unreported?

Because the number of civilian and rebel casualties are most probably disproportionately higher than the police losses.

You really need to start living with the MORO[on] people, you seem to be the only kind heart who understands them.

BTW, are you also personally going to ensure that the Uyighur women are allowed to wear the burqua ???

The fact that they are only reporting one side of this police raid speaks volumes.

Does this have anything to do with the Mindanao turmoil lately? Aquino safe from coup | Fifthcolumnpost

Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin expressed confidence yesterday that the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) would not turn its back on President Aquino and join a brewing coup, reportedly being financed by a "very rich man," in the wake of the growing outrage over the Mamasapano massacre of 44 Special Action Force (SAF) commandos.

The AFP said initial consultations with ground commanders do not point to involvement of some soldiers in the alleged uprising against the President, while the Philippine National Police (PNP) said there is neither any recruitment nor a brewing coup d'etat involving policemen.

beside government counterpart Prof. Miriam Coronel – Ferrer, swears to tell the truth at yesterday's continuation of the Senate investigation into the Mamasapano encounter that killed 44 police Special Action Force (SAF) commandos.

"The Armed Forces of the Philippines is verifying allegations of a coup plot by members of this organization. Based on initial consultations with ground commanders, we have not received any feedback confirming the reports which were spread by some quarters," said Lt. Col. Harold Cabunoc, chief military information officer.
Military coup is not unusual in Philippine history! Aquino's father was assassinated, and his mother ascended to power after a coup (people's power movement alike?).

Wow, I didn't know Philippines also had this problem!!

Almost 20 countries around the world have the same Islamic problem.

All are different cultures and religions but all face the same problem with different names.

The Hindu nationalists are not a bunch of raving lunatics, you know.

They make a lot of sense when it comes to the Islamic problem.

Sir, read about Moro rebellion.....Oil money has created this issue not just in Philippines but even in South Thailand!

Why don't we offer to train them?

After all our soldiers have stamped out Jihad in Kashmir.

Thailand is definitely a friendly country and so has Philippines shown initiative to support us in ASEAN.

I just don't understand the GOI policy till date; we go on @$$ kissing jihadi terrorist lunatics in Pakistan and Bangladesh, who are always culturally hostile to our country, while we do nothing to cooperate with peaceful and culturally similar Thailand, Myanmar and rest of the Southeast Asia who are friendly to India.

WTF?

Good news!

Your country should train with us in dealing with these scum.

In the 90s, we were also poor and resource limited in terms of military capabilities. That was the time when jihad was at its peak in our state of Kashmir.

But even then our Army fought and crushed these terrorists.

Hope and pray for all the success of your soldiers in this fight.

US does squat for the Philippines.

The only thing Manila gets from US is cast away retired military boats for their navy and a lip service to 'support Philippines' but when China roars, US just moves aside.

Also, it pays a few crumbs to the ruling politician who then redirects his press to shower his media with news of strategic alliance and friendship.

Philippines closed down US bases many years ago only to reactivate them in 2013.

What they need in fighting jihad is not used warships and useless military maneuvers meant for fighting conventional armies; they need counter guerilla tactics that CRPF and even Vietnamese military specializes in.

Ambush and assault.

Bro, they are getting trained by US forces AFAIK! I know RR will be too good for this training, however we do not meddle into US dominions, yes we should discreetly help Thailand and Myanmar for sure!
