Modi feels for Muslims, calls them mere "ballot papers"

Ahmedabad, Sept 5: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has dared to say the unthinkable and is always known for speaking his mind out. Speaking at a function honouring students of the Muslim community at an event organized by the Gujarat Ajmeri Charitable and Education Trust, he said that vote bank politics ensured that the Muslim community remained weak and disintegrated.

Modi has been quoted as saying, "Vote bank politics by rulers was to divide the people in India on the basis of minority and majority over the last 50 years. You have been duped and deceived, and used as mere ballot papers only during the elections. How long would you like to remain like that?" He called on the community to join the mainstream and be partners in progress.

Well isnt the population of the entire country a ballot paper? Earlier promises of Roti Kapda aur Makan got votes from everyone, majority or minority.

In a veiled remark on the Prime Minister's speech in the Red Fort on Independence Day, Modi asks, "The Prime Minister in his speech from Red Fort while addressing the nation said... Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians. Can not he simply say my countrymen...?"

the last statement is what i like

Good point made by Mr.Modi. Congress used this against the whole of INDIA to divide it into three parts. Namely INDIA, PAKISTAN and BANGLADESH. It was Nehru who started it and the CONGRESS is still following it till date.

Add Dalits and Adivasis to the list.

Other powerful communities like Kshatriyas and others, are bought through power-sharing i.e by giving them some rank and file.

There is no doubt that the Muslims, Dalits or the ever increasing divides in Caste (for reservations, perks etc) are but ploys to garner votes.

If one observes the Indian political history, this emphasis and re-inventing the social chemistry got a fillip once the behemoth of Indian politics found itself shaky.

And ever since this arithmetic has been re-inventing itself in various avatars!

Obviously, these divisions are but only avatars for 'ballot' incentives.

Why must one be identified by his religion or caste to be an Indian as if to finetune his attitude towards citizenship?

But doesn't BJP use Hindu vote bank for its political advantage? Although BJP still delivers on the development front but they themselves still indulge in vote bank politics. At a lower scale but still.

BJP's vote bank politics is based on nationalism and Hinduism. Thus far, its vote bank politics had not done any damage to the nation. Only wild allegations are hurled on it.

On the contrary, congress' vote bank politics is based on minority appeasement at the expense of the majority to the extent that even terrorists(and their funders and backers) are ignored and to divide Hindus into communities of caste or clan. In short, Congress' vote bank politics is based on division of society and backing radical elements to the detriment of the country.

    Did you forget Babri Masjid?

Modi's inaction during Gujrat riot is not an allegation its a fact. Is it a criminal offence? No.

Same way Congress's inability to save Hindu's from bomb blast is not a criminal offence. Delaying Afzal Guru's hanging.

Both are appeasing their vote banks by inaction. Both are morally guilty.

You are comparing Apples and Oranges. As I said, except wild allegations, there is no harm done by BJP's vote bank politics atleast not to the nation. Whereas, Congress refuses to take action against terrorists because that would alienated muslims. That means, Congress considers muslims as supporters of terrorists. This is a two-fold damage to the nation.

The fact is you n likes couldn't provide a single proof of Modi being guilty !
In police actions during 2002 riots many Hindus also died. because it was action taken by Modi government. Why mostly muslim died in riot ? simply "Pani me rahake magarmach se bair nahi karte" !
Congress's inability to save Hindu may be justified by loopholes in laws, but not hanging Afjal is clearly votebank politics. not only that congress didn't hesitated to arrest Hindus in the name "Hindu/saffron terrorist" to please its muslim vote bank giving them feeling of parity (
to even Pakistanis). First they couldn't provide any proof in Samjauta express blast so court has to release them. But congress couldn't afford it so they arrested them in Malegaon blast ( which is in Maharashtra) so they can put all those Hindu suspects in jail for long time useing "Macoca". And use this case as counter weapon when they are criticise by BJP on Muslim terror.

    Huh?

You seriously believe Narendra Modi tried his best to stop Godhra Riots? The allegation of him propagating the riots might be wrong but his inaction caused the number of casualties cross thousands. The situation could have been handled much more better but Modi refused to take any action.

What is wrong is wrong. Both BJP and Congress are equally bad. Both have their religious vote banks. And both used them to harm the nation. You notion of BJP not using the vote bank politics to harm the nation is wrong. And Babri Masjid demolition is the perfect example of BJP's vote bank politics harming the nation. The demolition was followed by riots and than the bombay bomb blast.

What do you know about me? Who are you comparing me with? Who the hell are you to compare with me anyone or categorising me with a certain group?

Do you even read my post? Did you even read the post you have quoted? Modi is found not guilty because 'inaction' is not a criminal offence. You seem to be a literate fellow. If you still believe the Modi is a saint and tried his best to save muslim lives during riots than there is something really wrong with you. Yes he is great statesman and except the riots, the best thing that ever happened to Gujrat. But supporting BJP in Gujrat riots is the same as supporting the Sikh riots started by Congress party workers. There is no justice in both the cases. One committee after another but still no justice.

I'm tired of repeating this fora across fora. But let me try again.

What do you expect a man who just inherited a state from nearly 50 years of Congress rule with a pathetic police force and an equally pathetic bureaucracy to do in such a surcharged situation ? Does he have a magic wand that can stop the riots immediately after it is waved ? He is only as good as the state machinery he just inherited. And with that he stopped the riots from spreading anywhere outside Ahmedabad into other areas of the state.

And what exactly is that "thousands killed" ? The official death count as reveled by the Congress in the Parliament is 749 Muslims and 310 Hindus. If you meant Thousands of Muslims killed you are wrong .

BJP's usage of the votebank politics is very very less as compared to the Congress which has perpetually depended on it to maintain its rule. And Mr.Slash dont view the Babri Masjid in isolation. It has much more to it than just the events on Dec.6 1992 starting with the Shah Bano case.

What else could he do other than ask the police to provide protection ? If the police themselves are under-manned, ill-equipped and so pathetically trained as to not stop the riots how does that become Modi's responsibility.

Again your comparison of the Guj riots to the Anti-Sikh riots only shows how little you know about them. There can be NO comparison between the two.
