OSDs and PSs have always been the prerogative of the Ministers.

Therefore, the rationale of the PIL is not understood.

These are real waste of time for the SC and unnecessarily take away valuable time from adjudicating other serious cases.

100% agree with HC. Secretary is a sensitive post which the minister should have his/her own person whom he/she can trust implicitly.

Even, selection by Majhi his son-in-law wasn't something unethical, as the post is not something that falls under established hierarchy of service. The person holding the post don't have any more power in any matter whether decision making or otherwise, except how much influence he/she has on the minister or CM. I didn't like the hoopla by the media-whores on that issue, as if there were not any more important news than a CM appointing his trusted son-in-law in a official position. If someone was worried about the guy exploiting the position granted, It would have been better if he held a position in govt. and so had an accountability. He can always do the bartering for anything with 3rd party simply flouting his relation, and nobody would be able to hold him responsible.
