Guys, just received information of an ongoing firefight between suspected militants and police of AP and TN at Puttur, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. Seems like about 60 Police personnel have surrounded the house and trying to arrest them. SIB sleuths headed by an SP and the district SP are monitoring the ground situation. OCTOPUS teams have been rushed there.

2 militants killed and 4 more suspected to be inside the house. NIA has rushed its team. Suspected that Bilal Malik who is part of Al Uma terrorist group is still inside. Allegedly 4 people have taken that house for rent few months back on the pretext that they were Beedi workers.

Andhra Pradesh: Police raid terrorist hideout, constable killed - Rediff.com India News

Vicky Nanjappa adds: Police teams from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are on the verge of busting a major group of terror outfit Al-Ummah.

Earlier, the police had managed to nab one Fakruddin, who"Ž passed on information that members of the Al-Ummah were holed up in a house at Puttur.

Fakruddin had supplied material for the blast near the BJP's office in Bangalore in April.

"ŽDuring the operation, police managed to nab Bilal Mallik, a key operative and a resident of Tamil Nadu.

Police suspect that this very group was responsible for the bomb blast during L K Advani's political rally in the state.

The constable, who was killed during the encounter, was stabbed to death by the terrorists.

Sources say the police teams are trying to flush out two more terrorists holed inside the house.
Why are our police still un-educated regarding terrorist tactics?

Why are they being unnecessarily killed, that too not by shooting but by stabbing, which could have easily been avoided?

Sorry state of policing in AP and TN.

If it is the same group as the al ummah, they were the ones that were responsible for the coimbatore bombings of 1998. So a fairly old group,The police quickly cracked down on them and quite a few of their key members were taken out or are in jail, a lot of people thought they were done for.

so these guys are the ones behind the recent killings of bjp/hmk leaders...

RIP the security personnel who died :(

This is that Jawaharilullah vishwaroopam guy right? He was actualy one of the founding fathers of al-ummah! He then quit shortly before the groups first terror operation, to form his party., and later said that he quit the ummah because it was turning violent. He is currently a sitting MLA, and is an ally of JJ.

These people were nvolved in Malleswaram Bomb blast near BJP office in Bangalore earlier this year. These bastards should be caught alive, extract all the required information & grill them to death.
