I would still like to believe that Manmohan is an honest man and that someone higher has made a 'mickey' out of him.

Once in court, he will have to spill the beans since he would like to go into history as an honest man and he is very protective of this image.

What he forgot, though the film Jalli Note was made when he was young, are the lines of the lyric

Left to himself and given a free hand to handle sensitive issues of governance, Dr. Singh would surely have done no wrong. But due to coalition compulsions and personal loyalty to the " high command" Dr. Singh acted in such a manner in many matters that was seen as wrongful. The question therefore is,even after accepting that Dr. Singh would not have derived any personal/ peculiarly benefits either for himself or his family, how and why he had done some thing which he was not expected to do or had not done some thing which he was duty bound to do, in accordance with the oath of office of discharging his duty without fear or favour. For answers to these disturbing questions , we have to wait for the truth to prevail, after presenting his case with all the facts.

The dharma of coalition politics is bogus.

It is a silly excuse to unbridled illegal money grubbing and then hanging on to power for money money grubbing.

The Congress claims that Sonia Gandhi including son in law Vadra are clean as a whistle. So, that means that they did not influence Manmohan.

It appears The Hindu does not believe this.

    BBC report.

Does Sonia Gandhi have any option but to stand behind M Singh?

Singh maybe partially innocent (he after all signed and supervised, with or without anyone bidding).

What if he spill the beans?

"The irony is that as Prime Minister, Singh has always been accused by rivals of being indecisive. Now he is being tried for taking decisions which, according to him, were meant to promote industrial activity in Odisha on the request of chief minister Naveen Patnaik."

Something similar was said about 2G Scam, that the figure said by CAG, was impromptus of the understanding that , the spectrum price considered(by CAG) has taken in consideration the price in a "developed" economy , like Singapore, and ,loss to exchequer doesn't mean loos to "people" , but gain due to lower tariff.

We can verify the validity of the above statement , only after tariff price is set by operators, as current competitive bidding is "indeed very competitive at the moment".

Having said that, if we assumed that indeed Mr. Singh was thinking of welfare of State , was , the allocated block to Hindalco , in some way affected the development of state, or was it a "classic case of crony capitalism " ??

One question to above which co-olation patner beneffitted form coal scam..........

DMF benefitted from 2G but which co-alition partner benefitted from caol scam

Apart from industriliast near to congress or those to BJP/BJD mostly gained as coal mines where mostly in either BJp or BJD ruled states

So know we know how stupid and moron are our newspaper who gave un-necessary spin and specially this HT run by Brilias and even of them is accused in some kind of recent oil - leaks..

One of brilia family member has been continuously awarded with RS ticket form congress even one they have to contribute anything sginificantly to India

While the issue of benefiting is valid, but the accessory to the act is not blame proof and that too the PM who was the Coal Min.

If he had leadership qualities, he could have snuffed out all illegal deals that were in the pot.

    He did not.

    He is equally blameworthy.

All the noise systematically disappeared the moment congress came running to agree upon Mines and Minerals bills. All the circus got over in hours.

BJP chocking congress with its own medicine.

And it was MMS who threatened BJP with skeletons just few years back :rofl:

If BJP is really playing this game, hats off to them. My respect for Modi/BJP just went up hundredfold.

Heard anything on this again? ;)

    It was a calculated ploy.

Power & politics are always wielded in same manner, no matter what flag you are holding.
