"Manish Tewariji has nothing to do these days. There is this book of mine, ask him to read it and every thing will be clear to him," Singh told reporters. At an event in Delhi on Saturday, Tewari had brushed aside allegations that the news item published on April 4, 2012 was fake. The former information and broadcasting minister said the unexpected movement of troops was "unfortunate, but the story was true". "At that time, I used to serve in the standing committee of defence. And it is unfortunate, but the story was true. The story was correct," Tewari said, adding that he is not interested in "getting into an argument" over it. The Indian Express had reported that late on the night of January 16, 2012 - the day then Army chief General VK Singh approached the Supreme Court on his date of birth issue - central intelligence agencies had reported an unexpected and non-notified movement towards the capital by a key military unit from the mechanised infantry based in Haryana's Hisar, 150km away. The troops were from the 33rd Armoured Division, which is a part of 1 Corps, a strike formation based in Mathura and then commanded by General Singh. The former Army Chief had later called the Indian Express report "absolutely stupid".
