Man(Ahmed) tries to open emergency door of Air Asia plane before landing, handed over to police

New Delhi/Ranchi: A male passenger on the Air Asia flight from Delhi to Ranchi almost endangered the lives of all the fellow passengers and crew members as he tried to open the emergency exit door minutes before landing.

The passenger, identified as Aftab Ahmed, made this life-threatening attempt yesterday at 9.50 pm, according to official sources.

He also allegedly injured a few passengers and crew members when they attempted to stop him.

Ahmed, who is an expat from Ranchi, was handed over to local police at Ranchi, sources said.

A statement from the airline on the incident is awaited.
