Education is human beings' fundamental right. It is affected by poverty, violence, and conflicts. The situation of violence not only brings children into physical risk but also attacks their right to get education by destroying schools, threatening them to leave the place and by maintaining a violent environment. Taliban did all this in Swat where a young girl stood up and raised voice for girls' education. Tribute to young Malala, in the days when Taliban were destroying Schools, CD Shops banning Music and girls education, young Malala stood up and rejected Taliban's agenda of violence and started struggle as a social activist for girls education

Malala Yousufzai became famous when Adam B. Ellick started filming a documentary on her for New York Times. Soon she became famous figure nationally and internationally. Her popularity grown day by day as National TV Channels started interviewing Malala Yousufzai. The days were passing on and Malala's passion to work for spreading education was increasing day by day. Taliban issued multiple death threats to her for speaking against them. 9 October 2012 was the black day when people of Pakistan and the whole world were shocked by hearing the news that Taliban shot girl students returning home after school. Malala was their prime target. Malala Survived in the assassination attempt and were treated by top doctors in Pakistan. Then she was moved to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where the international Media closely watched her rehabilitation. Since then she became a symbol for those who are working for Human rights. Malala now lives abroad. On 13 July 2013 she addressed hundreds of young people at the United Nations, giving them a clarion call to use education as a weapon against extremism.

Nomination for Nobel Prize

Malala was nominated by three members of the Norwegian parliament from the ruling Labor Party on their website . Malala's name was put forward because of "her courageous commitment to the right of girls to education. A commitment that seemed so threatening to the extremists that they chose to try and kill her," said parliamentarian Freddy de Ruiter on the Labor party web site.

At 15 years of age Malala became the youngest person ever nominated for Nobel Prize.

Malala's Competetors.

Lets analyze Malala yousufzai's chance to win Nobel Peace Prize. This year 258 other candidates will be hoping for Nobel Peace Prize out of which 50 are organizations. Out of total 259 nominees, following are some strong Candidates besides Malala Yousufzai

Denis Mukwege : Congolese gynecologist Denis Mukwege is famous for his advocacy of combating sexual violence. He runs a 400 beds hospital named as Panzi Hospital in Bakuvu Congo for rape and sexual assaults victims since 1999 for treating survivors of sexual violence. He draws world's attention to sexual crimes and their consequences and in acknowledgement he is nominated for Nobel Peace Prize. He received several awards including Republic of France "Special Human Rights Prize 2007" United Nations Human Rights Prize 2008 and Clinton Global Citizen Award for Leadership in Civil Society in 2011 as most prominent.

Bradley Manning : A US Army Private Bradley Manning is nominated for Nobel Peace Prize. His nominations reflect the acknowledgement of his efforts to provide secret US Cables to Wikileaks and probably to help end Iraq War. He leaked videos of July 12 2007 Baghdad Airstrike and 2009 Granai Airstrike in Afghanistan as well as 250,000 United States diplomatic cables; and 500,000 army reports that came to be known as the Iraq War logs and Afghan War logs. He is currently charged with 22 allegations and is facing trial. His nomination is the acknowledgment for his efforts to bring peace and to expose the brutality of War Forces – USA

Russian Tio : The three French females activists Lyudmila Alexeyeva, Svetlana Gannushkina and Lilya Shibanova are acknowledged and nominated for Nobel peace Prize for their struggle in demand of rights, democracy and reconciliation.

Lyudmila Alexeyeva founded Moscow Helsinki Group in 1976 which works for Human Rights and organizes protests for this cause. Svetlana Gannushkina, the founding member of Memorial which particularly works for the rights of Chechens. Lilya Shibanova is the head of the only full scale government-independent election monitoring organization in Russia, Golos, founded in 2000. They record frauds in recent elections systematically. The critical role of Elections in Democracy, the importance for people and civil society to monitor elections are reasons for her nominations.

Democratic Voice of Burma : The media organization set up in exile 20 years ago. Under the dictatorship in Myanmar media was not allowed to operate independently. Democratic voice of Burma manged to get updates regularly from a tightly controlled regeim through their network of supporters. The Nobel Peace Prize nomination is the acknowledgement of their people's efforts to bring democracy in the country.

John Onaiyekan and Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar.

Haji Muhammad Saad Abubakar is the Sultan of Sokoto. He is also President-General of the Nigerian National Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA). John Onaiyekan is the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Abuja and the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria. Nigera has long been in a state of violence. These two people are nominated for Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to prevent misuse of religion to incite violence.

Edword Snowden : A Swedish sociology professor nominates US Former Technical contractor for National Security Agency. He is also former employee of CIA. He became famous for leaking out information on United States top secret and British Governments' Mass surveillance program to media. Swedish Professor in his letter addressed to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Stefan Svallfors praised Snowden for his "heroic effort at great personal cost." He stated that by revealing the existence and the scale of the US surveillance programs, Snowden showed "individuals can stand up for fundamental rights and freedoms."

These are some of the strong candidates. Other famous people in Peace Prize nominations include Former US President Bill Clinton, Founder Microsoft Bill Gates and some Organizations like UNESCO, Echo of Moscow, Facebook, Military Religious Freedom Foundation (USA) and Women's International League for Peace and freedom.

It is hard to say that who will win but according to the popularity, Malala Yousufzai and Edward Snowden are strong candidates. I searched and on several forums over internet the people casting votes for Malala are higher than anyone else. Malala Yousufzai holds a higher number of awards then the other strong candidates. Nobel Peace Prize might be given to a person representing entirely different dimension i.e. Fight against Poverty , Fight against Corruption or people conducting Peace research. But Malala Yousufzai is favorite nominee of many experts. Kristian Berg Harpviken, Director of Peace Research Institute Oslo who have a very close eye on the Nobel Peace Prize nomination process since many years, have also listed Malala Yousufzai as her favorite nominee. IBTimes on 15th July reported that Malala yousufzai is leading Snowden and all other nominees on the Gambling sites to win Nobel Peace Prize with the odds of 1–5.

Despite of the popularity of Malala Yousufzai worldwide, opinion of people is divided in Pakistan. Majority of the people think that the whole story of Malala Yousufzai was preplanned. Some even think that CIA is behind the launch of Malala yousufzai while liberal minded people supports Malala Yousufzai. Internationally Malala is now seen as a symbol for fight against destructive forces that want to prevent democracy, equality and Human rights. I don't know who will win Nobel Peace Prize of 10 December, but I am hopeful that she will come back Pakistan to resume her struggle for the girl's education.

Lets pray May she win Nobel Peace prize to give a message to world that "¦"¦..We want Peace!

This is the shorter version of my blog Malala Yousafzai may become second Pakistani to win Nobel Prize adapted for this forum. Read full version of the blog here "the-bestselection.blogspot.com"

Yes, he deserves all the appreciation in the world. But the kind of tool of West this prize has become, I feel no charm when anyone wins it.

Awards are just words,if any person truely works for people his only reward is the respect and admiration he receives from them, what do you say?

Quite likely that Yousefzai will get it.

The Prize has become highly political and goes to those who subscribe to western values.

Not that this little girl was not a heroine in her own rights!

Re: Malala Yousufzai is strongest Nominee to win Nobel Peace Prize 201

dear members,
first of all i would like to point out the politicization of the Nobel Peace Prize by the Western countries in the recent past.Mr.Alfred Nobel started this amazing prize to reward and recognize the untiring efforts of a few genius human beings for the betterment of the entire mankind.but over the years this particular prize ceremony has become a political tool of the Western countries.
there was a time when even the great Mahatma Gandhi who is known as the beacon of peace to the entire world in modern times for his "Ahimsa principle" was denied of the Nobel Peace Prize for some unknown reason.that was perhaps the worst decision taken by the Nobel Committee in it's entire history of functioning.
but nowadays it seems that any tom, dick or harry can get the Noble Peace Prize only if he can get into the good books of the Western civilization.the current President of the U.S.A. is a shinning example of this policy.the west is trying to show the world that Malala Yousufzai has done an exemplary job in the face of overwhelming odds by publicly opposing the fatwa issued by the Taliban, even at the cost of her own life.even though i have no doubt in my mind that Ms.Yousufzai did a great job and since has become the symbol of hope for millions of girls all around the globe who face similar kind of situations each day,but the truth is that there are many more deserving candidates like Dr.Abdul Sattar Edhi(another pakistani) who has radically changed the lives of countless human beings through his untiring philanthropic activities.if there is one person who deseves this prize it's definitely him.
but as we all know that it's upto the western countries to decide whom they will award this prize nowadays instead of the Nobel Committee we can safely assume that the Nobel Peace Prize is surely going to lose it's prominence in the coming decades as people are slowly but surely started to understand the dirty political game being played by the Western countries at the Nobel ceremonial Podium to achieve their political goals!

What a joke! What makes her so special? There are thousands of girls like her, she doesn't deserve all this special treatment, it's all stooopid and a waste of money AFAIC. All this Malala nonsense is just damage control to portray Pakistan as a victim of terrorism, if Pakistan is not willing to clean up their own country and look after their citizens because they play good terrorist, bad terrorist, then pakis deserve the backlash they get from playing such a dangerous game!

Malala should also thank the terrorist pakistani state! They are the ones that are not willing to clean up their house, so also deserve to be thanked!

IMO, Malalalala has had her freebies and instead of giving speeches at the UN, she should return back to pakiland and give speeches there, because it's the terrorist pakis she needs to convince to clean up their terrorist infested country so girls like her can get their education and what not!

International Politics wants to show that the Muslims are heartless, bigots and downright scoundrels!

That is the reality and idea is encouraged to be believed by the antics of the fool fundamentalists who are totally brain dead!

They are as foolish as our own Darool who have given a fatwa that Photos are unIslamic!
