Mahatma Gandhi is one of those leaders who create lasting impressions on the memory of mankind. Since his adulthood in South Africa he committed himself to the cause of human rights and civil liberties. Having an Indian origin, Mahatma Gandhi did not find any difference in the environment of British India and British South Africa. After gaining popularity Mahatma Gandhi returned to his native land, India where his people were direly waiting for his leadership.

Mahatma Gandhi was a simple soul and son of the soil in true sense of the words. He gave message of non violence and peace to his people who were struggling to get rid of the British rule. He laid down the golden principles regarding politics, business and even the religion which always show us the light of peace at the end of every tunnel of dismay.

People of India are expected to convince their government to shun all such controversial policies so that the image of their great leader is not tarnished and achievement of global peace becomes rather easy.

With all due respect to him, I'm not much of his fan, especially of his last years.

Not trying to offend anyone, but I wud prefer bhagat Singh or subhash Chandra bose anytime. Because of him we got the indepence 40 years later than we would have. Not only that, he failed to prevent the partition instead he promoted it. Not only that, he also fasted for weeks to give more than half of the
India's treasury to Pakistan when Indians themselves were suffering from famine and drought and of course, extreme poverty.it was 55 crores!!!! He was a good leader no doubt, but he did more harm to India than good. Not only that becuse of him, we don't have a foreign policy that is tough enough. Majority of the problems in India is a root of Gandhi Nehru association. Sorry but that's what I think

According to that it means it was agreed that they would be given money beforehand.

Absolutely Gandhi was a real Mahatma, a political saint.

He is the father of this nation and all over educated trolls should stop here.

Whatever wrong he did the nation has collectively paid the price, that was our deal, bad deal may be. This is how things work, that is the rule of the game.

Leaders do make mistakes, Nehru did, Shashtri did, IG did, IK Gujral did, N. Rao did, few did knowingly, few did under pressure, few did because they had difficult choices to make.

But Mahatama is not one of them, because we made him father of this nation. He should be immune to cheep shots.

We are a democracy, make some one else the father of this nation, pull out the respect we the people have given to him, put someone else's picture on the notes, no one can stop you.

But there is a thing, one can not change his/her father and he is dead now. Find a trick to change the father of this nation, till then no bitching.

Dont be so emotional bro, If something is wrong, we better call it wrong otherwise what's the difference between us and the pakis?? They too have billions of evidences to see for themselves and their countrie's worth , but still they are proud of themselves. I no where said Gandhiji was not respectable, I only said he wasn't a suitable person to lead or to "inaugrate" India's Independence... The slow policies and the extra kindness our govt shows even to our enemies is a direct result of gandhiji's influence on India's politics and morals

Nothin like that was agreed, even if it was, it could have been easily ignored and Gandhiji didnt really have to go to that length to protect pakistan's interest as he was Indian first..
