What year is the article, and from what newspaper? Perhaps the proceedings of that January 22 Court of Inquiry are still available and would be the primary source.

Looking at http://qph.cf.quoracdn.net/ yields the following:

This is the link to the original article from 1971.

Several articles relating to Netaji Bose as well, 1951-1980.

Hindustantimes.com - the name India trusts for news

well i have always thought hitlers role in india's independece is downplayed and he contributed more to it then even gandhi did. only if he were not a monster as he was he would have been able to openly talk about it.

I am sure Nehru would have surrendred Netaji but only before 1950 or so. Later on he must have judged the mood of the nation. Recall, as late as 1946 he condemned Udham Singh, but in 55 or so changed his tunes.

I can believe Nehru having such idea to further his ambition but Gandhi ji would not have betrayed Subhash Chandra Bose.

Whole congress had named Patel as PM, but Nehru played a master stroke, he showed his feelings of being a PM towards Gandhiji and Patel was "Nirvikar" at that time. Gandhiji asked Patel about this and left the decision on Gandhiji. And that 1 decision went wrong.
You can say Nehru was the pioneer of jealousy in Indian Politics.

Gandhi wanted Nehru to be PM of Inida. Bose does not fit into this scheme in any means. Bose is too popular and independent in thinking to the comfort of Gandhi and Nehru. So Bose has to be banished from the country for good.

There is a believe that Bose was captured by Russians and put to a Gulag for long time

Truth is a bit different.Bose was not even a Pan-Bengali leader in his lifetime much less a Pan-Indian leader. His popularity and legend increased post his demise. What Bose did was he made British pee in their pants using the weapon called Indian nationalism created by Gandhiji through Azad Hind Fauj and the following RIN mutiny. For that we have to be grateful to him for that.India under Bose might have been a glorified North Korea without any democratic freedoms. That is not something endearing to me

If so,then how come Netaji won the vote of being the Congress president by a huge margin. AND THE BIG QUESTION IS, WHY DID GANDHIJI THEN FORCED HIM TO RESIGN???
Why NEhru in his tenure as India's PM, did not kickstart any investigation on Netajis death?
In Bengal we pity this Nehru-Gandhi lovers coz of their delusions. The great Gandhi if wished could have also stopped the death of Bhagat Singh and many. But at the end of the day he was a great politician who happened to fool an entire nation.

You have mis understood Bose, recomend you to read his life history and thoughts on freedom and after.Bose defeated Gandhi's nominee in Haripur election to the President post if I am not wrong. Go to Punjab and see with your eyes the popularity of Bose there.
