So, Mumbaikars came out to vote?

Any breakdown to show how many came from Colaba and Pali Hill?

Or is it the will of the slums as the TV debates seem to suggest eg Prahlad Kacker and Alysee Padamchi or whatever are their names!

Mumbai results are not so relevant for the state. People in Mumbai simply don't vote in civic polls. However Thane, Mumbai are traditionally strongholds of SS.

Why is swamy speaking crap in twitter like this

Silicon Valley experts gave me another scene: EVMs rigged. Congi second in UP, Quereshi President in July, MMS sacked.Buddhu PM.
    Doesn't make sense

And this was the statement of the Maharashtra CM on the eve of the elections

Mumbai civic polls will be a turning point in Maharashtra politics: Chavan

AS per Mr.Chavan after the polls parties like Shiv Sena would be losing their relevance. Now the boot seems to be on the other boot.

The biggest gainer is Sharad Pawar, with good showing by NCP and poor show by the Congress , now he will be calling the shots in the next state and General Elections.

Alisee Padamchi and Kacker said that the polls are not material since it is the slumdwellers who are affected and so they vote.

The others could not care less!

    Is that true?

Cong-NCP would've gained more if Cong had listened to Pawar on seat sharing. Anyways this should serve as epiphany for them.

The ex CM (whose son married Genelia) is still someone who is important and so is that ex SS chap who is a Minister.

Therefore, they do have solid leaders in Maharastra.

I have seen Sharad Pawar at close quarters and he is indeed a reckoning force. In fact, he is the real face of Maharastra, like it or not!

Of course, I have seen him to be very wily and crafty. But then is that not what politics all about?

Rahul is OK for the feudal idiots.

    Maharastrians are no fools.

I have lived with them and I can safely say that even the village bumpkin is no fool.

I have done extensive tenures in UP and MP and they are easy to befool.

    Feudalism is to the core!

    It is their staple!

My problem is these guys cannibalize on Marathis .Maharasthra seriously lacks an iconic leader like Nitish,MGR or NTR.Sir,Pawar is a plain thug the less you speak about him the better

A very silly argument for the low voter turnout in South Mumbai

    http://www.firstpost.com/mumbai/is-...ter-turnout-in-south-mumbai-valid-216328.html

The writer has made an assumption that these tony neighborhoods in South Mumbai are the ultimate that a city could offer it's residents. There can be no improvement. One just has to tour these areas and see the truth. In comparison to other areas of Mumbai it may look like an alien country but these places do have their share of problems which need urgent attention.

People take their day off & rest in Panchgani or Khandala. They don't find civic poll voting any important because every urban project ends up in the tangle of political fight with different parties being crucial stakeholder from state to Central govt to local rickshaw union. Thats the problem with Mumbai, hence somebody suggested to declare it as 'state city'; but that will be another shytfest.

Having Thane/Mumbai BMC in their pocket, SS has secured funds for LS elections now since they rule the richest civic body in country!

Thugs in the political world are leaders!

Show me one who is not a downright thug and masquerading as an educated human being.

Even Khurshed the suave gentleman has shown his colours!

Digvijay Singh claims royal linkage and speaks like an illiterate guttersnipe!

    So, why differentiate?

Pawar is mass leader, Mundhe is a mass leader. These two are iconic leaders among Marathis.

    All political leaders are thugs.

They did that too during the General Elections too, after all that 'This will not happen again' show after the Mumbai carnage!

No aspersions on Mumbaikars, but Indian cities are full of these fraud bleeding hearts who do not come forward and be counted when they have to do their duty or when the chips are down!

well who said ncp is doing well. in mumbai they are struggling as they did in past only in thane - pune they are better. mumbai has always ditched sarad pawar as . for conrgress well it is worse then their last bmc performance. it seems MNS not only stole ss-bjp combine vote but now congress-ncp share to. SS-BJP some how compensated it with rpi but con-ncp could not . now congress wont use MNS card in future .
