Why would China launch "nuclear-armed" aircrafts to chase down ours, as per this report?? Also how can anyone ascertain if the enemy aircraft is indeed carrying nuclear weapons?
Indian journalism! It comes naturally to these morons!! What this armchair specialist Saurab Shukla may have meant was nuclear capable aircraft like the SU-27 and not nuclear armed. But then English is a foreign language!

PUNE: Blaming China for the ongoing standoff at Doklam, near the Sikkim-Bhutan-Tibet tri-junction, Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat said on Saturday that it was a consequence of Beijing's attempt to change the "status quo."

"During flag meetings with China, we tell them that we (India and China) should go back to the pre-June 16 position at Doklam plateau. But we haven't been able to come up with a resolution as there are different perceptions about how it should be done. Hence, it should be dealt with at diplomatic and political levels," he said.

Gen Rawat was in the city to deliver the General B C Joshi Memorial Lecture, titled "India's challenges in the current geo-strategic construct" at Savitribai Phule Pune University.

"Let's say this stand-off gets resolved, but our troops on the border should not feel that it cannot happen again. Such instances are likely to increase in future... My message to the troops is to not let down the guard," he said.

Commenting on the recent scuffle between the troops of both the countries in the Ladakh region, he said both countries had a joint mechanism to resolve such issues amicably.

"The LAC has not yet been settled between the two countries, and hence each country has a different perception about it. So, at times, you have a clash as each one tries to patrol the area up to its limits. But these things are normal. Our aim is not to escalate things and get back to normalcy. We are living on the border peacefully," he told reporters on the sidelines of the lecture.

On China, Gen Rawat said, Chinese armed forces had made significant progress in capabilities regarding force mobilisation, application and sustenance of operations. He said China continues to enhance influence in the regional security environment "by increasing defence/economic partnerships in the neighbourhood, especially in Pakistan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Myanmar. The CPEC passing through POK challenges India's sovereignty"

US supports the return of status quo of the tri-junction point.

Washington: Hopeful that India and China can negotiate a peaceful resolution to the ongoing Doklam standoff, a senior Trump official has said the US "supports the return of status quo" of the tri-junction point.

The US is concerned about "sovereignty issues and adherence to international law" amidst increased tension between the two Asian giants, said a senior administration official.

"We're also concerned about Bhutanese sovereignty issues. We're concerned in general terms about sovereignty issues and adherence to international law. I think that certainly pertains to this particular issue," said the official who spoke on condition of anonymity, given the sensitive nature of confrontation between India and China.

Now the US is also asking the Hans to back off and maintain the status quo. But will these Chinese listen? Their inflated egos will mean the confrontation will continue to fester till the winter sets in.

Adding to what Screambowl posted above, it took us almost half an hour to detect incoming threat while the enemy did it in a few minutes? The report also mentions we lost track of both sides at least once. Is there a shortcoming on our side or is the enemy terrain too tough for the radar?
No doubt that 4 min scramble time from detection to take off is a bad reporting.

But I may question the detecting and telemetry capability of Indian radar. Due to power glitch.

Super Shithole china has now ruled that all the internet users in china must provide real ids for online comments.

Since we indians respect China so much we must apply same rule for our esteemed chinki members who come here to brag how advanced chinka is.

Ask for their real ids just as in china . Otherwise china will be offended. We need to be good neighbors , no?

All Chinese must be treated as they are treated in china . As slaves with all due respect of course.

As they are at higher ground its not possible to see through, But they can do very well ..

Their is no issue of power glitch as these radar installation have their own power source in case of emergency ..

These can run of months if needed ..
