C28A Frigate-- A=Algeria

---around 2880 tons displacements , an export contract of three vessels was signed with Algeria in Mar 2012. the building phase for the first vessel is 38 months...120m long ,width: 14.4m , 29 knots , 76mm Main gun, C802A SSM, FM-90N SAM, 730 CIWS , 324mm light Torpedo Launcher, the interesting sensor from Dutch Thales --SMART-S Mk.2. ..Racal RM-1290 Navigation Radar and other Thales communication system, but the fire control radar and combat management system is provided by China group...

two of the three the vessels have been launched. the first one has begun the sea trial already...Pennant No. 920 and 921

2800 tons Vs 1400 tons Type056 in the same shipyard

C13B Corvette -- B=Bangladesh

the export varient of PLAN 056 light frigate, 1330 tons displacement, 90 meters long, 11 meters wide, >25 knots, 76mm Main gun, C802A SSM, 8 cells FL-3000N SRSAM and 30mm Gun..it seems this varient cancelled the Torpedo Launcher and some other difference from the Type 056 could be spotted.

the first export contract came from the Bangladesh Navy...Two vessels would be built in middile China and more might be built in Bangladesh with TOT...the first one was launched in Nov 2014, the second was launched in this year...Pennant No. F111 & F112

700 tons Missile boat/ Patrol boat

76mm main gun, 14.5mm AA machine Gun, and C704 short range SSM... the launch order was also from Bangladesh

the launch of C704 missile, C704 is a small size Anti-Ship missile against small boats/vessels.

it seems that this model might share the basic design with the export missile boat project for Pakistan Navy...but that type owns more powerful Anti-ship missile attack ability--8× long range C802A SSM

3700 ton frigate --- this is a concept used to bid for the Thailand Navy project.

3700 tons standard displacement , the full is more than the 4000 tons. obviously it is based on the PLAN Type 054A frigate. it was just a concept, but it won't take too much time for the detailed design and full engineering development if an order is confirmed...all sensor package is optional, western or China product or a mix package...the weapon system would come from china mainly...

76mm Main Gun
LY80N(?) /HQ16 SAM 32 cells
C802A SSM
FL-3000N SAM
630 CIWS
324mm Torpedo Launcher

-----------------------------------

Public Service Ship/Offshore Patrol Vesse

this is supposed to be based on the China 1800 tons class Public Service Ship built for the China Coast Guard.

----------------------------------

20000 ton's Replenishment ship

base on the PLAN Type 903 class... but the the first of this model is an export project-- HTMS Similan (AOR 871) of Thailand Navy

then PLAN began to introduce the domestic varient . so far four Type903 and 903A are in service ,two more are under construction...

------------------------------------

4200 tons LST

the export varient of 072A LST, more than 4000 tons , >20 knots...

-------------------------------------

S20 export Submarine

also a concept for the bid launched by Thailand Navy... someone said in the interview that this time the under water weapon is the knock-out products

Malaysia Keen To Buy China Warships | Malaysian Defence

Malaysia Keen To Buy China Warships

SHAH ALAM: The Government remain keen over plans to procure at least two China made warships for the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) although the service did not request for it,industry sources said.

The sources told Malaysian Defence that the plan to buy the two warships in the works for the last two years, was proposed by a group of businessmen from both countries supposedly to promote ties between Malaysia and China.

Senior defence ministry officials when contacted by Malaysian Defence confirmed the plan but declined further comment.

Sources told Malaysian Defence the deal for the two warships was supposed to be signed during the Prime Minister's visit to China last year = the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries – but was cancelled at the last moment due to various issues, one of them was funding concerns.

Despite the last minute cancellation, sources indicated that the government remained keen on the plan and it might revived when funding is made available.

The sources disagreed the exact type of warship that was supposed to be procured. However it is likely that the warships will be a variant of the C28A corvettes bound for the Algerian Navy. A model of the C28A corvette was displayed at the China Shipbuilding Trading Co (CSTC) booth at the DSA 14 show in Kuala Lumpur, in April.

According to CSTC, the C28A is about 120 m in length, with a beam of 14.4 m, a draft of 3.87m, a standard displacement of about 2,880 tons, and a full-load displacement of more than 3,000 tons.

It must be noted that Algeria designated its ships as corvettes although the vessels have a similar displacement to the Pakistan F-22P ships which are designated as frigates, the Zulfiquar-class. RMN's own French designed which has similar displacement to both, the C28A and F-22P ships, are designated as frigates.

Interestingly, CTSC and the PNS Zulfiquar are taking part in next week's LIMA 15 though no China vessels are taking part in the show.

The three ships for Algeria are being built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Company in Shanghai. The contracts for the ships was signed in 2012 and the first ship was launched on Aug 15, 2014 and delivery is expected this year.

Janes had reported that the C28A was an evolution of Pakistan's F-22P frigates on the basis that Algerian naval teams visited Pakistan to see that frigate's operations first-hand. The report also said the C28A also appears to borrow design elements from the Type 054A frigate of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy.

Sources told Malaysian Defence that it was likely only the hull and related machineries will be sourced from China while the ship's main combat systems will be procured from Western companies.

And despite the disagreements about the hull design, all of the sources noted that whatever design was chosen, the ships will be fitted with MTU or MTU-derived diesel engines.

According to the sources, it is likely that the ships will have the same systems and weapons like those on the LCS – being built by Boustead Naval Shipyard. Final fittings of the China frigates are expected to be done at the BNS facility in Lumut – the same place where the LCS is to be built and outfitted as it is unlikely the Western made electronics and sensors could be exported to China.

The same arrangement is being made for the Algerian corvettes with the Western made equipment to be install on the ships once they are delivered to the North African nation.

If the procurement is approved, it is expected that the ships will be funded during the 11th Malaysian Plan and delivered within four years of the contract signing.

Malaysia May Buy Chinese Corvettes

Malaysia May Buy Chinese Corvettes
Source : Our Bureau ~ Dated : Tuesday, March 17, 2015 @ 12:50

Malaysia is planning to buy two variants of C28A Chinese warships for its navy, a local defense media website quoted industry sources as saying last week.

"The deal for the two warships was supposed to be signed during the Prime Minister's visit to China last year during 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries – but was cancelled at the last moment due to various issues, one of them was funding concerns. Despite the cancellation, Malaysia remained keen on the plan and it might revive after funding is made available," malaysiandefence.com website quoted unnamed sources from the defense ministry as saying.

The exact kind of warships that Malaysia is supposed to be buying is still not known. Malaysia may buy variants of C28A corvettes by China Shipbuilding Trading Co (CSTC).

The C28A is about 120 meters with a beam of 14.4 meters with a standard displacement of about 2,880 tons and a full-load displacement of more than 3,000 tons.

The C28A bound to Algeria are designated as corvettes whereas Pakistan's F-22P vessel with similar displacement is designated as frigates. RMN also has a DCNS designed frigate with similar displacement.

Both CSTC and PNS Zulfiquar (F-22P) are participating in LIMA 2015.

Janes had reported that the C28A was an evolution of Pakistan's F-22P frigates on the basis that Algerian naval teams visited Pakistan to see that frigate's operations first-hand. The report also said the C28A also appears to borrow design elements from the Type 054A frigate of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy

about the maintenance in the warranty period... there is some update in the thread : http://defenceforumindia.com/forum/china/16478-liaoning-varyag-chinese-aircraft-carrier-42.html

in 2014, CV-16 Liaoning accepted a 4 months long Maintainance/Modification job in her refit shipyard. the modification which costs hundred millions of dollars is based on the experience gained in the past two years usage...she left the shipyard in the late August...
------
then the further training/ test mission went on...for the first time , CV-16 welcomed her first J15 carrier-borne fighter combat regiment..unlike the 55X serial J15 Prototype fleet with yellow painting coat, the Serial Production batch of J15 are painted with serial number- 1XX on the standard combat blue-Gray painting... source : Navy Newspaper
CV-16 is still with us in daily news via official / unofficial source...

_some news report about the decommission of PLAN first generation seaman served on Carrier... sad moment for them

_some personal witness of the ship in the newly built north or south home ports

golden sunshine, golden sea and the golden ship ...

_last month , even on the Spring Festival Gala, all crew gathered on the Flat-top and sent their greeting and blessing to all Chinese people...

happy lunar new year!

_and some international satellite images provider also always keeps eyes on her and publishes something on their website from time to time..
