    This is an interesting take on the compulsions that fuel the US Pakistan relationship.

    Notwithstanding the sentiment, the US is hardly in a position to call it quits in Afghanistan or lower the bar on the Drone strikes.

    Pakistan requires US' money and arms and so they have to play ball. The US actions also keeps the Pakistanis busy with these issues rather than the problems that besot them domestically.

    In fact, it is a cosy club!

    The main thing that is hitting the Pakistani's is laid out in a single paragraph in the article,

    This is just a fig leaf used time and again by the PA
    If the American lay off these two Groups and their Sub Groups, then everything will be hunky dory in Pak US relations, and Drone strikes can go on 24x7 for all that GHQ at Rawalpindi is bothered about.
