Kashmir is not India's internal matter: Pakistan

The Jammu and Kashmir issue is one of the oldest disputes on the United Nations Security Council agenda and it is not an internal affair of India, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Tasnim Aslam.

Responding to questions at the weekly media briefing on Thursday, she said "What the Prime Minister essentially said in The Hague is that if there is reluctance on the Indian side to resolve this issue bilaterally, our common friends can help convince India to come to the negotiating table." Mr. Nawaz Sharif had requested for U.S. mediation and international help to resolve Kashmir on his visit to The Hague for the International Nuclear Security Summit. India has ruled out any third party mediation in the matter.

Ms. Aslam said the U.N. has an observer mission here — the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan. The Under Secretary-General of U.N. Department of Peacekeeping Operations recently visited Pakistan and he also went to the Line of Control (LoC). So, there is no denying the fact that it is an internationally recognised dispute. "Now the choice we have is to move like other regions towards developing good neighbourly relations, forging economic ties, increasing people to people contacts so that people in this region can also benefit from regional trade and economic cooperation and connectivity," she said. "People in region also deserve to reap the benefits of economic cooperation. It is, therefore, important that Pakistan and India resolve this dispute through dialogue, she added.

No one gives a flying fck what Pakistan barks now these days. Pakistan is on the verge of collapse and to avoid public attention(general Pakistanis) they generally raise up Kashmir issue. Now time to beg to China, US, IMF and others. Go back to your begging bowl.

Actually whatever happens in Pakistan is no more their internal matter... everything happens in Pakistan is a international matter.... specially when OBL was caught living a great life in his harem just near Islamabad.

Absolutely, It is problem of Pakistan as well to solve. I hope Pakistan will keep assisting insurgency in Kashmir or giving moral and political support to some unknown Kashmiris and their cause.

I want to see Pakistani Gazi army entering Lal Chownk of Sri Nagar and then weaker InA struggling to capture it; taking a very long time. I want valley to be an active theatre of war. Pakistan should develop some spine and free these lands by attacking us using full force than crawling like rats under the fences to infiltrate, marry Kashmiri women, live in their homes, eat free food, breed couple of kids and then be hunted by Indian army. Wake up Pakistani musalmano, your Muslim brothers and sisters are dying in the hands of Hindus.

Art. 370 clearly says that it is "temporary" nor it says that J&K has any right of plebiscite. Heck the whole Indian constitution doesn't contain the term "plebiscite" a single time. Those who are living in their dreamland should come back to the reality that J&K is permanent part of India.
