Kanhaiya Kumar was beaten by lawyers according to the BBC. Something which has not been proven yet.

The court has sent him to prison for two weeks, in the meantime he is awaiting trial.

Mr Kumar was arrested after a rally against the 2013 hanging of Mohammed Afzal Guru a terrorist who killed innocent Indians. At the rally anti-India slogans were allegedly raised, there's also documentary evidence of another countries flag being raised.

Afzal Guru was convicted over a 2001 plot to attack India's parliament, he had links to various terror groups across South Asia.

Afzal Guru wasn't a very nice person, he was a threat to national security and a burden on the state. Did he deserve the death penalty?
