Already available Sir, please go through this thread. JF-17/FC-1 is the most deserving candidate. What better, you will get 3x the number for the same budget ( yes that was official marketing line). Even more, Chinese are testing systems for Hot and humid setting, so if your Air-force shows interest they will surely provide customised solution for Cold and Frigid environment also.

None of your original posts contained any links or sources.

What do you expect? Posters here to put a pair pliers up your ass to pull them out from deep inside?

This proves exactly what I had written above. Hypocrisy of Chinese poster.

But, you have all the time to paste un-sourced information for the sake of 50-cents.

You didn't appreciate me for that excellent sales pitch that I did for Jf-17 to Finland in a post above? Ungrateful 'small' hearted individual.

China sells fighter jets (JF-17) to Argentina

ARGENTINA is to purchase sophisticated Chinese fighter jets able to attack the Falkland Islands as part of a "strategic partnership" with Beijing.

Argentinian President, Kristina de Kirchner went to China last week to seal the deal

The move, which further raised tensions in the South Atlantic last night, follows a three-day visit by President Kristina de Kirchner to Beijing last week, in which Argentina secured 15 economic agreements and significant financial investment to bolster its failing economy.

It comes after a decision by Buenos Aires to abandon talks with Vladimir Putin to secure 12 Sukhoi Su-24 'Fencer" bombers, capable of reaching Port Stanley.

Last night sources told the Sunday Express that the deal with Russia, revealed by the Sunday Express in September, had stalled after a series of delays and concerns over post-sale maintenance.

However, that failure will see Argentina now take delivery of 20 of the most advanced fighter jets in the world.

Mrs Kirchner has constantly caused concern for the Foreign Office with her campaign to generate international political support for the islands to be returned to Argentina.

Last month the Ministry of Defence revealed that the Rapier air defence system currently based on Mount Pleasant to counter any potential air threat is to be upgraded, with sources adding that the "operational drumbeat" of routine deployments are also being increased.

China has pledged more than £162billion in investments for Latin America over the next five years, and has indicated that it will write off millions loaned several years ago, allowing nations like Argentina to rebuild their economies.

Crucially, the financial package includes military equipment to re-generate Argentina's crippled air force which, over the past 18 months, has attempted to buy aircraft from Israel, Spain and, most recently, Moscow.

Argentina had been negotiating for Russian aircraft, but in fact the Fencers they were looking at are very outdated if you are looking to hold the Falklands, and they have a very poor record for aftersales service for customers
Justin Bronk, of the defence think-tank RUSI
In a "working group" formed by the two countries, Beijing agreed to supply around 20 FC-1/JF-17 "Thunder" fighter jets produced by the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation.

The single-seat, single-engine, fighter has a top speed of Mach 1.8 at altitude of 55,000 ft and combat range of 840 miles, allowing it to comfortably fly to Port Stanley and back from the Tierra del Fuego air base in southern Argentina.

It will also carry a range of weapons including air-to-air missiles and laser guided bombs.

The collaboration will see China's influence in the region soar as Beijing funds the projects such as the Cepernic Kirchner dams, the Belgrano Cargas railway and the Atucha nuclear plant will also generate more than 20,000 jobs.

A senior RAF source said: "The procurement of Chinese aircraft is worrying; they are modern, fast and very capable.

However, we have a robust capability in the Falklands and I imagine that de Kirchner is trying to reinforce her military to strengthen her foreign policy at the negotiating table."

Last night Justin Bronk, of the defence think-tank RUSI, said: "Argentina had been negotiating for Russian aircraft, but in fact the Fencers they were looking at are very outdated if you are looking to hold the Falklands, and they have a very poor record for aftersales service for customers.

"China's JF-17 is based on the old Soviet Union's Mig 21, the backbone to the Soviet air force, so it has excellent pedigree.

But it is cheaper than what Russia has to offer, brand new, and has a good reputation for being reliable and having an extremely wide armament fit.

"It is the non-Western equivalent to the Swedish Gripen, which Argentina originally tried to acquire through Brazil before the deal was stopped by Britain because it contained 30 per cent British parts.

"It would certainly allow Argentina's air force to fly over Port Stanley, though it's no match for RAF Typhoons and its pilots don't have the asymmetrical training that RAF has.

In addition, we have the Type-45 destroyer which is the most formidable air defence destroyer in the world.

"This deal would give China the first proper export market for this new fighter jet, which has been developed with Pakistan, and it seems China is willing to offer Argentina very good finance terms."

He added: " There is definitely an aspect of trying to restore Argentinean martial pride, bearing in mind what an enormous issue the 'Malvinas' issue remains there.

For her to be able to say 'we can hold the islands' is vital for her.

"And while she is likely to be replaced by moderates when she steps down in October, it would be a mistake to think that this issue will go away."

JF-17 Thunder: Govt to buy jet engines directly from Russia

Pakistan will directly import engines from Russia to manufacture its JF-17 Thunder fighter jets. The engines were earlier imported via China.

According to sources in ministry of defence production, China has recently issued no objection certificate (NOC) to Pakistan, which was earlier producing the fighter jet as a joint venture with China.

"The Chinese NOC now allows Pakistan to import fighter jet engines from Russia directly," a source said. "This will not only reduce the cost of production of the fighter jet but will also lead to enhanced defence cooperation between Russia and Pakistan."

Islamabad and Moscow had recently agreed to boost cooperation in several spheres including that of defence during the recent Russian defence minister's visit to Pakistan. "This is a significant move since Pakistan had never struck any direct defence deal with Russia," the sources said.

"Russia was clearly tilted towards India and the new Russian policy towards Pakistan is seen as a coup pulled by the country's foreign policy.

Block 2 JF-17 makes first flight ahead of Block 3 improvements

Publication:Jane's Defence Weekly

The first Block 2 JF-17 Thunder combat aircraft made its maiden flight from the Pakistan Aeronautical Company (PAC) facility at Kamra on 9 February.
The aircraft (serial number 2P01) made three more successful flights before being taken to the paint shop in mid-February. The test flights came as a boost as PAC continues to look for a first export customer for its platform.

Air Commodore Ahsan Rafiq, Deputy Chief Project Director (Operations) JF-17 and a former commanding officer of the JF-17 Test and Evaluation Unit, described the Block 2 version as "an upgraded Block 1 with an air-to-air refuelling (AAR) probe, enhanced oxygen system [to allow the pilot to stay in the air longer], and improved electronic countermeasures system (ECS)".

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has a contract for 50 Block 2 JF-17s but as Air Cdre Ahsan pointed out, "the full AAR system will not appear until the 29th jet, which should fly later this year [at Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) in China]."

In a further development that sends a clear signal that PAC and Chinese marketing partner CATIC intend business in the international arena, the Block 2 JF-17 will also have a two-seater version, which is now being developed at Chengdu according to the PAF's requirements.

"We know potential customers would like to see a two-seater, although it is not such a big deal for the PAF, which started flying several types, [A-5, F-6, F-7P and F-7PG] without a training version," Air Cdre Ahsan said. "This will give us the chance to show potential suitors how the jet can perform in the air."

COMMENT

Air Cdre Ahsan said that while Block 1 and 2 JF-17s will not differ significantly - with Block 1 JF-17's ECS likely to be upgraded when it suits the PAF, it will be a different story with the Block 3 series.

"We are still developing the Block 3 configuration, but it will be a considerably different aircraft compared to the previous two blocks," he said. "A new AESA [active electronically scanned array] radar will be integrated, but this is still in the design stage; however, we are looking at both Western and Eastern options."

Integrating an AESA with the SD-10A beyond-visual-range missile will provide the PAF and any other JF-17 operator with a long-range, all-aspect precision day and night engagement capability.

As the JF-17 continues to evolve, aircraft units will start coming off the PAC Kamra production line more quickly. The facility is also set to reach the 58% transfer of technology agreed with China, which had been previously slowed down to keep it in line with the plant's infrastructure and equipment growth.

This Block 2 JF-17, with its KLJ-7 airborne pulse doppler fire-control radar visible, was one of the few units on the production line at PAC Kamra on 19 February. The Block 3 version, now being developed, will accommodate a new AESA radar. (Alan Warnes)

Argentina Shopping for Chinese Fighter Jets

Argentina Shopping for Chinese Fighter Jets
Defense Splurge Set to Include Falklands-Capable Aircraft

MARCH 17, 2015 AT 12:07 PM

Argentina is seeking to purchase 24 advanced fighter aircraft from China, Defense Minister Agustín Rossi told press Tuesday. The jets, it was soon reported, would be capable of reaching the Falkland Islands, a South Atlantic archipelago owned by the United Kingdom but claimed by Argentina as the Islas Malvinas.+

Within the next week, "the chief of staff of the Argentinean Air Force is traveling to China along with a technical delegation to analyze the possibilities" of purchasing up to 24 FC-1/JF-17 fighter jets, said Rossi.+

"The single-seat, single-engine fighter has a top speed of Mach 1.8 at altitude of 55,000 ft and combat range of 840 miles, allowing it to comfortably fly to Port Stanley and back from the Tierra del Fuego air base in southern Argentina," wrote British journalist Marco Giannangeli on February 15 after initial high-level talks between Buenos Aires and Beijing.+

Rossi confirmed that the government is seeking to buy "no lees than 12 and no more than 24"³ fighters.+

"This is a new thing for the Argentinean Air Force, which has always had Western equipment," he said. However, Rossi also mentioned that there are "two formal offers" to buy Spanish-made F1 jets, and the Kfir Block 60 from Israel. "Informally, we also have a French offer," he added.+

Rossi estimated that the purchase process will be finished before the end of the year. He said that when he receives all the formal offers he "will take the different alternatives to the president so she can make the decision," he said.+

On Monday, President Cristina Kirchner, along with Rossi and Army Chief César Milani, announced that the Argentinean army is to receive additional funding of AR$930 million (about US$71 million). "[This is] the largest investment ever made in a long time" to equip the force, she said.+

The investment includes the purchase of 120,000 new uniforms bought in China, 35 Hummers, and 30 trucks to transport troops and equipment, among others.+

The announcement comes in the same week as a prosecutor in the province of Córdoba asked a judge to bring a case against Milani, who is currently under investigation for human-rights violations during the 1976-1983 military dictatorship.

@shiphone, according to my source CAC is manufacturing 6 JF-17's for PAF to speed up the third and fourth squadron. Can you confirm this?

@ladder, the flight testing is done by PAF. The five JF-17's built last year have been handed over. Three more are at final stage at the assembly line.
Proof?
